Yep, I guess Ovchinnikov wanted to avoid the team losing rhythm with a setter change and allow Startseva to try some plays which she would not do if the score was more tied. Matienko played a short time against GBR and I expect this will have been her only appearance in OG unless anything happens to Startseva.

She is a bit rusty clearly. Algeria scored half their points on her overpasses or hitting errors. She is recovering though, and hopefully will be able to contribute more in the cross-over.
oh, i am in agreement with Matthias that i think Lyuba did decent for this match, certainly not her best yet, abit slow here & there, maybe the opponent plays a part too, but her receiving is stable which is good for Russia, for the limited game time she got until now, i think its good pregression.
As for Kosheleva, good to see that she played full sets now, not alot of balls for her but when she gets some she puts them off well.

I think Turkey has the advantage here but we would most likely see a determined Serbia who won't make things so easy for them. We'll see.
