World League 2013

  • Telling someone what he/she should do is not like telling him/her to do it.

    Btw, I have a birthday today :)

  • Who is this guy Lucarelli? :what: And why is he dominating the game like that?

You should take a look at the Brazilian league thread, there was a discussion earlier about Lucarelli. Some Brazilian users already predicted he is ready to be in the first six. You should, guys, follow more leagues even if you can't watch matches from everywhere :) Then you won't be that surprised. I couldn't watch the game, so I am also curious how it felt.

Who the f*ck is Lyneel and why is he having 100% in attack? What are these boys training with Placi - how to play cards?

Kaziyski got that for you. Lyneel made his NT debut one or two years ago. He was subbed in a few games, but wasn't nearly as impressive as he was today. I remember him playing against Italy, had some ups and downs (must've probably been last year then). Anyway, he had the game of his life tonight. He is, however, an average OH, you'll see he won't be as effective in the coming weeks.

It was kind of weird to read Bulgarian users' comments complaining about the NT. EVERY team so far made tons of mistakes. All the teams are bad at the moment. France and Bulgaria are no exception. Criticizing players, especially Sokolov and Skrimov, for two sets of bad volleyball is... you got it! They played bad and still won the game! Also, accept once and for all we can't win every single game :)

What I didn't get was why Sidibe remained on court instead of Moreau. Moreau is a better OPP IMO, with a better block and a more reliable serve. Don't know the form he is in, but I would've given him more chance, especially during the tie-break.

  • France played really good. I'm happy that we won, but honestly after the second set I wasn't that sure that we have chances. We have a lot to work in reception and we should be more stable in serving and minimize the mistakes there.

And it might be just my opinion, but I think that we are not mentally stable sometimes. We play some minutes good and then we crash. The 5th set is a really good example about this. To win 6 consecutive points and then lose it is not that good for us. Well I hope that we will win on Sunday too.

  that was an amazing match with some seriously crappy moments.
I liked it, it was fun. France plays really fast when their reception is good, but when opponents serve better and put them on pressure they kinda break down, Both teams will be smashed from the likes of Poland, Russia or Brazil, though :D Anyway...I enjoyed it :cheesy:

    I was wondering that too. 8| ?(

  • Argentina x USA was an odd game, neither team played well. It should've been a 3-0 for Argentina, but nice win for them nevertheless. (18/25, 21/25, 25/22, 24/26)

  • Our boys won in USA :woohoo: Even though we played with our nerves at the end, they played their best match in the last two years I would say. Excellent Sole and Crer (coming back to 2011 level?) and very good Bengolea (Facu's absence wasn't felt at all). Also, for some reason Uriarte started and played most of the match instead of De Cecco 8| and did it really well.

USA was very poor in general except in serve, which was the only aspect that prevented a 0-3 loss for them. Thornton especially was very poor, setting balls too low all the time. The japanese boy improved their game a bit, but wasn't much better.

    Felicitaciones, hermanos! :drink:

  • As I said last year: Bernardinho should have taken Lucarelli to London 2012 ;( :wall:

But now is about Rio 2016!

  • OMG this USA is so poor  I was surprised we beat France too, they seemed to be in great form easily beating Italy. Alexiev was awesome, Sokolov was very good, Skrimov and Bratoev had their moments too, Bozhilov was very shaky.
Raylight, happy birthday yesterday :drink: but you shouldn't write in forums while drunk :D

  • Nobody said "Nappy Birthday" to me

  • What a surprise in the morning! Argentina beated USA on their own ground. Bravo! :win: And from what I saw Bengolea was a top scorer. I read he was the best Argentinian player last season. I'm happy he will play in Plusliga. Argentinians are finally coming to Poland. Three in a package. :D

Lots of luck, ray. Flowers, kisses and all the sweet stuff for you. I'll raise my glass for you this evening :drink: Happy now? ;)

  • I thought that with Argentina being already qualified and all they wouldn't have won a single match in the first part of the wl, but I guess I was wrong and I'm happy :cup: I only saw the first set because it was really late and I was tired but I noticed they definitely were in good shape :) (I'm still confused by Pereyra changing role, btw, but I'm happy Ivan gets to play more this way!)

I think, since they're already qualified for the final phase, Weber wants to try all his players.
When Uriarte played here in Rome everyone said that he was terrible HAHAH, sure. I've always thought he only needed to gain some confidence and I guess that these couple of years back in Argentina helped him.

I am happy that you are here, bella, one good person should always be present at any forum :flower:

    Haha, so am I :D 8)

Bit sad for USA tho, I really like these guys but this season they're gonna be getting their asses kicked hard and often, I'm afraid.

  • any link for the japan-netherlands game? :drink:
