• Even the beginning of 2010 was tough. It wasn't until mid season that they turned things around.

The "turnaround" happened in the second leg of WGP prelims. Also, the very same time :rose: Logan Tom :rose: rejoined the team after the post-Olympic break. Coincidence?

I always thought that that turnaraund has happened in the F6 match against Poland, when USA saved 3 matchpoints, won the match and the tournament. For us that was the beginning of the end, for them it was the first huge step to become the best team in the world.

  • The turnaround happened in the second leg of 2010 WGP. Remember that first match against Italy in Thailand?

USA was not the favorite in that match but they showed superb blocking performance. Since then, they went undefeated in the tournament. That was the best blocking US team I have seen in the last quad. Except the libero, all other six starters were in the top 20 best blockers category.

I think USA will be fine this year. There is no IMPORTANT tournament and it's the best time for them to develop some new players.

The most important thing is to develop elite receiver/attackers. I would like to see Richards play as a starter on the left. Her reception is not that great, but still better than both Hodge and Klineman. She also has improved her attacking significantly in the past two seasons. I think she will have a bright future with the national team.

yes. i remember this. it was definitely the turnaround, even german coach mentioned it when logan rejoins the team and starts winning.

as a fan of USANT, it would be different watching the team without logan (assuming she leaves), as someone already mentioned it, 4-time olympian, all games in starting line up.in the last OG,i think, she's the only one who fought. there are a lot of young players out there, that can some say can replace logan provided they improve on their receives, but i think logan is hard to replace.these replacements got to have these.
receive+defense+vball iq. well then maybe they NT don't need logan anymore.

  • i'm surprise to see jenna hagglund in the roster

Les pieds dans le fumier, mais toujours le verbe haut et la tête droite ! Cocorico !

  • Did you paid attention in what Dani Scott said when she was interviewed?. X(

It's ridiculous that she still hopes to play on the national team. I'm not surprised to see Jenna Hagglund on the roster. She is very talented. I'm surprised about the presence of Regan Hood in there. Aside the serve, I can see no other skills that can be much valueable for the team coming from her. Other strange detail is Kim Hill listed as OH. Last time I saw her she was playing OPP.

There's always room for everyone in USA NT.
That's something I admire the most about their whole system of work.

Why is it ridiculous? She's still able to compete an elite international level. Should she retire because society doesn't deem old athletes to be of value? Also, Regan Hood had a pretty impressive season in Romania and was the offensive start of the league and for her team during the CL. She's a very good all around player. You should be more surprised that Hagglund made the roster considering she set Nantes to 10th place out of 12 teams in the French League.

  • When Willoughby signed a contract with Pinkin de Coroza she gave an interview about what was happening in her life recently, about doping and playing in the NT again. She said that she was in touch with Hugh all the time and he wanted her in NT again and she thought about coming back, but ultimately she said no. She added that when she had that doping break, she could spend more time with her family, her mother, her husband and she didn't want to change that.

    Do you have that interview?

  • The current training roster is quite interesting. Honestly there are very few players listed in there that I can see being major contibutors to the team. It seems like Karch is just bringing in a bunch of girls that had previously competed as juniors and in A2 for the USA. I would not be suprised if many of the players were not in the gym in June. I could see a whole new group being brought in and I hope it includes some better players.

  • Does Harmotto recover from injury?

    And what about Lloyd?

It's possible, you just have to believe in yourself and really not care what other people say, because I've heard it all.
If you let someone else dictate what you're going to do in life, then you won't get there.

Non so neanche come onestamente: in due mesi ero di nuovo in campo.
