I guess the match schedule was arranged to not harm teams with several national players on the roster. That's why Vôlei Amil, Molico/Nestlé and Sesi-SP have been played almost all matches beforehand while the others did not.

I guess it's because of the Grand Champions Cup. Vôlei Amil wouldn't have the head coach, the assistant coach and lots of players while Pinheiros has only Vagão out.

At São Paulo Cup, they were invencible until the final and lost it in straight sets. As a non-expensive team, they must be in peak form all the time in order to get good results. Their strenght is on the team and not in individual performances. Other teams with a bunch of good players or some outstanding athletes, even playing average are able to win sometimes. I think it's harder to them to win competitions, but maybe they can be Nuggets in one tournament and Rockets in the other.

Anyway, let's think it another way.
Pinheiros didn't accumulated Superleague and Paulista matches while the others had to play both competitions at the same time. I personally think that was really good and one of the reasons they were in a better shape in comparison with the others. They played 3 matches of São Paulo Cup without Wagão and won all them while Vôlei Amil ended up 5th at São Paulo Cup without both coaches and the players. 5th means 'goodbye, Campeonato Paulista!'
It was great to Pinheiros. They could focused on Superleague and now can do the same in Paulista and keep on playing what is good for the shape of the players.
Vôlei Amil will be without 3 coaches (Zé, Paulo and Cláudio), the opposite (Tandara), both OHs (Natália and Kristin), both MBs (Walewska and Gattaz) and the setter (Claudinha). It will put on risk their qualification to the semi-finals. I don't think they will beat any team playing with a setter as opposite and I don't know who as the second MB. I think it's fair enough. The calendar is awful and that was the best they could have.

It was a match with few and scrappy high level plays, shank series, dinks and so forth. Pinheiros nailed in the end.
