2015 CEV DenizBank Champions League

  • and most of the busto mistakes were in third set like 50% of them or something but i agree maja was awful today like i said in serbian nt thread her time is gone ana is so mutch better faster setter and u still didint explain how is having 5 serving erros having anything to do with playing good i m waiting for an answer

    :aww:
Maja was awful today. She is still a good setter however and has been doing well for Chemik all year. Nobody said Chemik played well, just that Busto did not play badly.

  • Maja was awful today but I wouldn't really blame only her, all of her teammates were horrible except Veljkovic...even her though, sometimes. She made a lot of serve errors in rough moments. I don't know who they will face up tomorrow but I want her to make some changes. Trying fast balls with Bjelica would be interesting because she was blocked quite a lot today, Glinka gets exhausted when she gets a big amount of balls, so Maja should control it.. Too bad that there's no one to replace Bjelica or Glinka. Kowalinska is not a CL final level player, just an average domestic league level player, wish Malagurski was there able to play.

One thing to add : I agree that Maja should have been replaced to take a breath but her second setter Rabka is awful, I believe that's why Cuccarini didn't let her rest..

  • To the people complaining about Busto's "luck": please propose an alternative system for CL playoffs :!:

It's always easy to complain about something, but I wonder what proposals will come now

    100% agree :!:

  • 23rd European Champions League Final for Italian Team since 1961; 13th Gold Medals, 9th Silver Medals.

  • can someone give link of stream ..I can't watch laola on mob. So i need other link :(

  • I understand that a team ends up in a death group by just luck and gets eliminated but rules are totally different in this case. CEV can change the playoffs to a round robin system so teams get what they actually deserve. I know Busto girls did very well today and deserved to be in the finals, but what if they lose terribly tomorrow? We will all question how much they deserved to come 2nd. I also find it silly that 3 teams from a country can't come to F4. This kills sportsmanship and rewards worse teams and demotivate investments of some clubs (for instance Fenerbahce this year).
All in all, I hope CEV will make some changes in the future.
About Chemik, they only have 2 top class players: Veljkovic and Glinka. Both showed that they can play in a higher league and still be great.

About Yamamay, they had really good reception during the entire tournament which made life much easier for Wolosz, especially when you have a tower like Diouf to set a high ball when a reception is awful. However in terms of scoring, they are relying on Diouf IMO.
Anyway, best of luck to both teams tomorrow and I hope we will see better performances :box:

  • I wonder what people would have said if Moscow advanced to Final 4 in stead of Busto. This topic is gonna be endless, not Busto's luck.

It is very easy, they should delete the rule which makes teams from the same country play each others. It is ridiculus. In Italy we say this since the rule exists. It was written to avoid all-italian finals, but now it is working against turkish teams and to me it is still unfair. Stronger teams must go on. That's all.

  • Congrats Busto! They played a very keen match, tons of defense, good rhythm. They deserve it, their club is definitely among the best in the world and hopefully they will manage to show their best tomorrow.

As for all of you guys complaining:
    1) Most of you are talking as if tomorrow's matches have already been played and turkish teams have demolished their opponents. Yes, it might happen and it is even likely but, if I were you, I would at least wait until tomorrow;
    2) Busto totally deserves this result. You say they were lucky with their draw: hahaha. Well, maybe. But I am still waiting for the list of unplayable teams they avoided. Maybe only Kazan would have deserved to be in this F4 and was unlucky. But remember matches are not decided on paper: Rabita and Fenerbache maybe had the strongest rosters with Vafik but were awful on court.
    3) I have watched few matches, so I might have been unlucky, but I have been far from impressed by Eczacibacsi this year. Even Vafik is definitely favourite but has not been terrific as in some other seasons. Just to say I don't feel turkish teams are playing at a different level.

    Enjoy these 3 matches now!

  • CEV can change the playoffs to a round robin system so teams get what they actually deserve.

And how would that work? After preliminary split the surviving teams into two groups of six teams and play 10 more rounds with home and away matches? Then the next complaint will be that players have to play too many matches and are exhausted and get injured more often.

Cannot agree more. And they can make it like a league where everyone plays against each other once and their place is based on the points they collect. So simple.

I was talking about F4 only. 4 teams play against each other only once in a place that host the competition. They get placed based on their points.

OK, this is a change I could accept. But Busto might still have gotten the very same draw in this case. And honestly, I'm not too interested in watching a CL F4 with 3 teams from Istanbul...

Sorry, but there is nothing more boring than final rounds in round robin system. Real final matches is what every player lives for, and in round robin system once again there will be the discussion about points, set ratio and all that stuff. So this is something I definitely would not want.

Are you serious with saying Glinka is classy? The only thing she can do is attacking well from sometimes so difficult balls, she still can do some tricks she learnt being in Vakif, but what else? TOTALLY lack of reception how can you imagine her in playing longer?
She is from 1978 and smoking, she has lack of physical condition.

That's gonna be the most boring championship ever. And I'm not so used to seeing some scary uncivilized fans like those in Istanbul. If 3 teams from Istanbul advance to FINAL 4, Istanbul will be the host city, right?

No it will be a bad 4th from Europe that does not deserve it at all and pays for hosting the F4 and gets the spot. I think European clubs should realize that it is time to invest more in volleyball and not only rely on CEV rules that cover their back.
