Serbia - Wiener Liga 2013/2014

  • The league is soon coming to an end and we're most likely going to have a new champion after several years. Partizan Vizura leads Crvena Zvezda 2-0 in the playoff final, 3-1, 3-0 and will take the title if they win the next match.

Tijana Boskovic has had a monster of a season and is definitely the MVP of the league. In fact, she's so dominant that it is probably bad for other youngsters on the team (namely Busa and Cikiriz) since they don't get much chance, really. In a year or two she will have most certainly outgrow the Serbian league.
The experienced MB Sladjana Bulic (ex Eric) has also played really well and has given much stability to this very young team.

Crvena Zvezda hasn't been able to make up for the loss of Bjelica and Stevanovic. Nikolina Lukic is a big disappointment, she hasn't progressed at all.

The standings at the end of the regular season:

    1.Partizan Vizura 47
    2.TENT 43
    3.Crvena Zvezda 40
    4. NIS Spartak 39
    5. Jedinstvo (SP) 30
    6. Železničar 26
    7. Kolubara 14
    8. Dinamo 12
    9. Jedinstvo (U) 12
    10. Smeč 5 7

  • Joana, when is the next final match?

    Hvala! ^^

  • 3rd match: Partizan Vizura - Crvena Zvezda 3-1(25:22, 22:25, 25:22, 25:23)
    Partizan is the new champion.

It was a very exciting game. Crvena Zvezda played well in defence and managed to make it close in each set, but in the end Boskovic's and Bulic's spikes and Savic's blocks made the difference.

  • Joana, do you think Boskovic is ready to move on to another league at this point?
