Amazing Thailand...

2018 FIVB World Championship - Japan

What's wrong with China? The two liberos were playing really bad.
-
Thailand lost, but they played well and fought for every point like they always do and never gave away anything easily. Even though they lost, I'm still proud of their great performance.
Ajcharaporn was doing so well too
hope she has a speedy recovery. su su
Thailand already does great things with their lack of height. I'm always curious what more wonders they can do at 183-87 cm? lol

Karch!

Tomorrow the most interesting matche is between Italy and China. If Italy can repeat their performance like they did in VNL against China they will for sure fight for top 3 spots.
Italy totally outplayed Turkey and Egonu wasn't at her best, Italy with Egonu at her top is even more stronger... I can't wait for tomorrow !!!

I wish I did not miss Thailand - USA :(( in particular...
Btw I just also read about some of the comments about the Italy - Turkey match... Can we for one just stop putting the blame on individuals and just accept Italy was much better in all aspects. Yes, Gio is stubborn sometimes but the 'favorites' some mention that makes simply no sense lol. Not 1-2-3 players but everyone looks not good for Tur, not as in VNL esp. Meryem and Eda's offense which might be bcs they played basically every single match in NT season... And were main players for their teams as well as captains, everyone needs rest sometimes. Aside from that, defense/reception is not good from the OHs anymore and block became non-existent. Turkey looks tired and not motivated anymore. Their opponents are just playing their real game. I have re-watched parts of the match and Italy just looked so much more dominant in all aspects, hope they can give China a run for their money as well tomorrow! Bosetti is key for Italy!!

USA is winning the matches they were supposed to win, but they haven't been impressive at all. First match againts Azerbaijan was much harder than anyone hoped, especially considering Azerbaijan is not playing their best nowadays. Korea managed to get a set from them, even though they as a team, and Kim individually have been bad this WCH. I need yet to watch the whole match against Thailand, but I'm really surprised they took them to 5, especially trailing 2:0, and having so many injured players, who are usually their key players.. Judging from the comments here they have been great today

Interesting how VNL finalists seem to struggle the most...

i only watched from mid- to end-of 4th set. WOW. short girls rule! this THA golden generation will be missed when they retire (onuma, wilavan, malika, nootsara, pleumjit). crazy set and match.
so sad for ajcharaporn. i've sprained my ankle(s) too many times, so painful to watch. hope she and pimpichaya recover soon.
so great to see such great battles. AZE better watch out tomorrow. they're just some tall girls, but not so great technique. i bet onuma can outspike mammadova any day.

Cant believe I fell back asleep and missed all matches lol
ha. i said i was gonna stay up to watch TUR x ITA and PUR x DOM but i didn't... woke up this morning to check the scores and saw that THA was giving the US a hard time, but i didn't turn on the computer. only now catching up to the matches...

Am i correct, that Brazil and Turkey are the only Teams, who can take their Match tomorrow with easy? If they win, they don´t can take the Points to the next round?!
-
in the past THA has beaten USA, RUS, CHN, BRA, ITA, TUR, DOM... all the top teams. with spikers that are 174-180 cm against blockers that are 190-200 cm tall...
btw being short also means their spikers are so versatile, in the sense that they all receive and attack. they don't really have a pure OPP.

Thailand is an incredible team. I wish them so much to get Tokyo Olympics
Moreover this may probably the very last chance for the captain Pleumjit and her many teammates to attend the Olympics, many at 30+ are no longer young, for them the Tokyo 2020 looks like the last flight.... it's amazing to learn that Thai player like Pleumjit has been playing for nearly 20 years... so I do want to see this team in the 2020 Tokyo OG... the team nearly made it for the 2016 Rio OG, just narrowly missed by some controversy at the OG qualification tournament held in Tokyo.
I just hope the Acharaporn's injury is not severe, but at camera thing did not look good.

Controversy? It was nothing short of a robbery, the biggest fraud in volleyball history.

I guess you did refer to the WGP and VNL tournaments and other minors
but not at the WCH or other quadrennial events.
