European Championship 2017 Azerbaijan&Georgia

  • Drawing of Lots ceremony will take place in Baku today. The event will be streamed live on CEV's youtube channel from 15:00 CET.

  • I'm surprised it won't be broadcasted by laola1.tv According to Polsat Sport News schedule (that channel will broadcast DoL ceremony in Poland) this event will start at 3 PM and end at 5 PM :D

  • According to Polsat Sport News schedule (that channel will broadcast DoL ceremony in Poland) this event will start at 3 PM and end at 5 PM :D

Yeah, saw that too. Let me guess ceremony schedule: 15-16:55 - musical/artistic/VIP/whatever "entertainment", 16:56-17:00- DOL

  • Pool A – Baku (Azerbaijan)
    Azerbaijan
    Germany
    Poland
    Hungary

    Pool B – Tbilisi (Georgia)
    Georgia
    Italy
    Croatia
    Belarus

    Pool C – Baku (Azerbaijan)
    Russia
    Turkey
    Bulgaria
    Ukraine

    Pool D - Ganja – Göygöl (Azerbaijan)
    Serbia
    Netherlands
    Belgium
    Czech Republic

  • Pool D is balanced. Pool A is probably the weakest group. I predict Hungary and Georgia will be out. Ukraine might fight but they probably will be eliminated as well.

  • Cev announced the schedule and it looks really weird and it is unfair for some teams.

  • Frauke Dirickx retired from NT or She is still playing ??

  • Just copy & paste from the Emil's posts at the Prediction Game thread - to float this dormant thread. Thx Emil fyi

This is NOT a prediction game info, just copy-paste the schedule, pool & roster info :D please kindly update the tournament info here.

  • Meh...What are you doing? :what: A prediction game thread is divided, it doesn't belong to ECH thread itself.

  • German final roster:

    S: Denise Hanke, Irina Kemmsies
OPP: Louisa Lippmann, Lena Stigrot (also OH)
OH: Maren Fromm, Jennifer Geerties, Jana Franziska Poll, Tanja Großer
MB: Marie Schölzel, Leonie Schwertmann, Jennifer Pettke, Lisa Gründing
    L: Lenka Dürr, Anna Pogany

  • I guess this German NT can be 5th to 8th place in the competition, any one better or even a medal would surprise me. Despite a lot of injury issues of Serbian team, they are considered as one of the favorites together with Russia, Italy, Netherlands and Turkey.

  • Turkey final roster:

S: Naz Aydemir Akyol, Gamze Alikaya
    OPP: Meryem Boz, Polen Uslupehlivan
OH: Gözde Kırdar Bracceschi, Neriman Özsoy Gençyürek, Güldeniz Önal, Hande Baladın (also OPP)
MB: Eda Erdem Dündar (Captain), Bahar Toksoy Guidetti, Kübra Çalışkan
L: Gizem Örge Güner, Simge Şebnem Aköz, Merve Dalbeler

    3 liberos

  • Polish roster:

    Setters: Wołosz, Pleśnierowicz

    Opps: Bociek, Smarzek

    MBs: Efimienko, Tokarska, Kąkolewska

OHs: Polak, Grajber, Murek, Twardowska, Brzóska

    Libero: Krzos, Witkowska

  • Yea I would have taken another MB since Bahar Toksoy/Guidetti is not in fom and not good enough at the moment and Kübra is not always reliable either. Should have taken best MB of the U23 Beyza. She is maybe not the best in attack but super strong in block and her serve can cause a lot of pressure on a lot of teams. She hit like 8 aces one set v DOM and even in the Turkish league vs VakifBank I remember she turned around a set aftr 24-21 down. All in all she surely better then Bahar and can even replace Kübra at times. I'm happy Hande is in the final roster though.

Simge seems useless to me especially since Güldeniz is already here like Umu11 mentioned.
