2015 / 2016 Transfer News

  • After 15 years playing abroad, Wout Wijsmans returns to Noliko Maaseik, to finish his career.
At age 37, he signs a 2 year contract:

Also, Gijs Jorna, signed a contract with Noliko Maaseik and will fill the libero-position.

Maaseik had 3 mediocre seasons and finally is committed to starting the next season with renewed ambition.

  • Andrea Gardini is staying in AZS Olsztyn as a head coach while Roberto Santilli won't stay in MKS Bedzin for next season, the reason is the fact he's also a coach of Australian NT.

Aleksander Sliwka(OH) will play for Resovia next season.

I hope this guy will find his place there and won't sit on bench forever :S he's such a talent and just needs game. And it doesn't look good for him looking at Kurek, Penchev and Akhrem...

With such competition he won't play a lot unfortunately ;(

  • Volleyball.it remains, to me, the best source in terms of transfers. They opened up the section for the 2015-2016 season and this is what I can sum up:

Bojan Janic (ex-Serbia NT, 33-year-old, Tomis Constanta) joins Stade Poitiers. To be honest, I am not 100% sure if they will play in Ligue A or not, but they have already signed another ex-Serbian NT member, Novica Bjelica (MB). Rumours link Nimir Abdel-Aziz to the club as well, but I haven't read an official confirmation yet.

Adam White (Australian NT, OH, Calzedonia Verona) moves to Tours VB. Meanwhile, Nicholas Hoag (Canadian NT, OH, Tours VB) joins Paris Volley.

Guillermo Falasca (ex-Spanish NT, Narbonne) ends his career.

Floris van Rekom (Dutch, OH, 23-year-old, Precura Antwerpen) joins Nantes.

Silvano Prandi is the new head coach of Chaumont.

Xavier Kapfer (French, OH, Maliye Milli Piyango Ankara) rumoured to have joined Ajaccio.

Last, there are rumours regarding the new setter of Belogorie. The starting position is empty after Travica's departure and Ivovic's arrival. There are not so many good and available Russian setters out there. Rumours are close to what I thought might be logical to happen - they seem to be interested in Sergey Antipkin (29-year-old), who had some impressive moments with Gazprom-Ugra Surgut.

  • Eemi Tervaportti leaves Knack Roeselare after 3 successfull years. The club has found a new replacement: the Spanish setter Angel Trinidad de Haro left TV Bühl and joins Knack Roeselare next season.

TimHH, you know the German league very well. This is a good transfer for Knack Roeselare?

  • Vôlei Brasil Kirin completed their roster for the 15/16 season:

    Argentinian Demian Gonzalez (S) and Romenian Olteanu (OH) are coming from UPCN;
Jotinha (S) and Michael (MB/OPP) renewed their contracts.
Piá (OH) is coming from Ziober Maringá. Ygor Ceará (OH) is also joining the team, arriving from Montes Claros.

    So, we'll have:

    S: Gonzalez, Jotinha
    OPP: Wallace, Baiano
OH: Lucas Loh, Olteanu, Ceará, Piá
    MBs: Vini, Maurício, Luizinho, Michael
    L: Tiago Brendle, Pará

São José dos Campos (11st place last season) is also starting to build a new team. New coach Leonardo Carvalho was named a couple of days ago, and it seems they're gonna have a much bigger budget this season too. The first names confirmed in the team are Lorena (OPP, from Funvic/Taubaté) and Diogo (OH, from Ziober Maringá). Everton (MB) renewed with the team. There's also a chance they're gonna hire Mário Jr. (L, from Copra Piacenza).

TimHH, you know the German league very well. This is a good transfer for Knack Roeselare?

Imho, he is a good setter who has everything needed to become a real good one. I would have liked to see him playing another year in Bühl.
I saw him live on two occasions last season. In the first match he was easily mvp of the match, scoring himself 15 points and leading his (good) middles to almost 100 % in attack. In the second match he went down together with his teammates. If I remember right i questioned at times his decision making.....

So overall i would say: good signing but he still needs to learn. Better teammates and competition in CL might help.

  • After 5 years in JW, Mateusz Malinowski(OP) has signed 2 yrs contract with Cuprum Lubin.

  • Kevin Tillie will play for ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle

    http://zaksa.pl/kevin-tillie-w-zaksie/

Wow, ZAKSA is making a really good transfers. Hope they will end next season in Top 3.

it will be very nice to see Kevin in PlusLiga next season! :)

  • interesting news in Poland :cheesy: Tilie can be good choice, I wonder how will Mauricio Borgesa and Murilo Radke play, both didn't have good last season, although Borges played a little bit better ^^

Wojciech Włodarczyk in Cuprum Lubin source
Ivan Borovnjak (OH/OP) and Jeroen Trommel (OH) are leaving Cuprum, Trommel probably will retire.
Dawid Murek (OH/L) will stay in Transfer Bydgoszcz.
Paweł Zagumny may play in AZS Politechnika Warszawska, they are negotiating his contract.

  • Aleksa Brđović is leaving PGE Skra Bełchatów. It's sure that he won't join any other Polish team.

He played nice in last matches of season. I don't think it's good for Bełchatów. IMO Aleksa was a bit underrated player.

  • Some news from France.

OH Julien Lavagne (Ajaccio) signed with Montpellier as a replacement for Julien Lyneel.

OH Swan N'Gapeth joined Tourcoing Lille Metropole

Setter Rusmir Halilović from Poitiers to Ales

Setter Nuno Pinheiro is leaving Tours VB and his replacement should be Rajko Strugar (MNE NT) from Orange.

    Bojan Janić signed with Poitiers

  • Jurij Gladyr(MB) with another year in Zaksa.

  • Marcin Waliński (outside hitter) is moving from Transfer Bydgoszcz to Indykpol AZS Olsztyn. Marcin signed 2-year contract and he will meet there his recent teammate - Paweł Woicki.

Of course, I'm not happy with that move, but I expected it - there were a lot of speculations since season ended for us. By the way, there are some gossips about other Transfer's OHs. Probably, also Konstantin Čupković will leave us before next season. Anyway, club is already searching for someone to "substitute" them ;)

I just feel like Falasca doesn't really trust him. I really hope Belchatow would find a better setter for the next season. Not a fan of Uriarte's set. (Even though I know they extended contract with him)
