They loaned Moroz to Korean Air Jumbos and he was doing pretty well. IMHO they know there is no team who can beat Zenit Kazan on the best of 5 matches, so they give up for this season, trying to earn some money with Moroz's and Camejo's loans. Anderson, Leon, MM must be something you can't actually deal with.

There won't be best of 5 matches. It is olympics season, so the winner of regular season wins the season.
Maybe they loaned them to make money as you said, or because they couldn't pay their wages.

You're right, I always forget about it, bit it still changes nothing: on the long run Kazan is simply too strong. -

There are big rumors about financial problems in Lokomotiv Novosibirsk. Apparently, Russian railways got new board and they are cutting budget for volley. So "yard sale" is going on in Novosibirsk, Butko is close to Zenit, Diviš should sign for Kuzbass while Abrosimov for Ural. Butko didn't play yesterday against Gazprom Ugra
-
Well Loko had that financial rumor last season as well, so I guess it really is happening now.

Moscow is the only big threa right now for Zenit in terms of points as I don't think they have playoffs this season.
-
One question:
Will there be a "Relegation Round" after the regular Season like last year?
-
Not sure. It is possible though
-
Hello,
Lokomotiv still withou Butko and Shulgin?
Does anyone know? -
I don't know about Shuglin but I think Butko is still out

The tendency palpable early in the season stays on: the League is way brighter than a year ago and I wouldn't say the level went down. If we crudely assess this by the average game score, a year ago after 11th round we had 12 five-setters while this year we have 17. I have to say that the most entertaining season (2012/13) had seen 27 tie-breaks after 11 rounds - although there were more matches played per round, the "corrected" number would be 24.
I've been speculating earlier regarding the reasons for this miracle (mass release of the talented benchers by the grands and lack subprime purchases) but I think I've missed the obvious moment. The "smooth" calendar makes every loss count. While everyone has more or less agreed on who's getting the gold, the silver and bronze are a matter of a competition between four teams (Dinamo Msk, Belgorod, Ugra, Fakel). The irony here is that the de facto pressure on Dinamo and Belgorod should be even higher than it was a year ago as there's only one step between the second and the fifth spots and there is no play-off to mend potential problems in the end. A year ago, Dinamo had only one competitor (Novosibirsk) and that was for the bronze. The gaps between them and the rest (i.e. the two teams above and the rest below) were fairly safe. This is not the case this year as Ugra and Fakel are much more competitive and so is "the middle class". Moscow and Belgorod lost points to Yenisey, Ural and Kuzbass this season.

Neftyanik Orenburg - the giants killer. First Belogorie, now Dinamo Moscow. With one of the setters I admire - Denis Ignatiev.

The Orenburg coach says they've been working hard over the January gap. To me, Dinamo has underestimated the opponent but Belgorod was deservedly beaten in good game. My personal pick from Orenburg is Nikita Kozlov. The chap is very much OK but that was definitely one of the best games of his life. No doubt, Belgorod still think what was that. By the way, Belgorod drifted down really badly. They switchedback to herointo using Muserskiy as opp in the last game, which they narrowly won in Ufa. They still have only two solid OHs, the coach is still useless, Danilov is OK overall but wobbly when a killer-opp is needed. -
Dinamo Moscow probably underestimated but I also don't think they are playing for their coach. Also why is Zaytsev starting on the bench recently? Is he injured?
