Italy - Serie A1 2015/16

    It's weird with Pomi's MBs lately. Whenever Stevanović is good, Gibbemeyer is bad and vice versa. They don't seem to do well at the same time and it's a big problem for Pomi as they have to go through entire rotations with only one reliable hitter (Kozuch) on court.

    That sure was an enjoyable match. Novara managed to improve their game in 5th set and Pomi's passing was too shaky in the end for Lloyd to be able to do anything special. On the other side Signorile had that possibility and did very well, tearing Pomi's block apart quite a lot. Cruz had a very good match apart from that untimely serving error at 23:24.

    Yeha, but Stevanović is more important/better than Gibbemeyer, I noticed the back court play much better when Stevanovic is on the net, Stevanovic did not played good in the first 2 sets and they lost then started playing good and things changed.

    I think is better to keep Malesevic in instead of Fawcett because she can`t pass and can`t defend.
    Malesevic pass and defend much better, and she can score as well once she can stay on the court for a solid amount of time, and not going in and out all the time.

    One question (sorry, I'm not following the female leagues too much): does Caterina Bosetti have fiscal problems, or she is on the bench simply because Fenoglio prefers the other OHs?

    I think the basic problem of Novara is that ALL of their OHs are very shaky in their performances. Cruz did very well today but I won't be surprised if she sucks in the next match. Fawcett started great today but lasted only for one set.


    About Bosetti, no idea if she has problems but she seems to be the weakest of Novara's OHs at the moment.

    I think is time for Italy to do the same thing as Turkey, only 2 foregin players on the court per team.


    IF Italy does not make to the Olympics, maybe that would open their eyes.


    Giving chances for the foregin makes than stronger, and keeping its own players on the beach only makes them weaker.


    You gotta be smart.


    But I dont think the clubs care for the national team at all.

    Well, this is true but I don't really agree.


    I mean I don't think Turkey's overall growth depends on the number of Turkish players playing. In fact, there are not enough high-level turkish players playing in the top league. And there would not be enough italians as well. I think it is a matter of choice: with 3 players (plus Club Italia) it looks like a good compromise to me. In the end the players playing in the national team are no more than 20 and with this type of system you make your best players confront themselves with some of the very best.
    Otherwise, letting everyone play you might probably have a higher average level but not a good top level.
    Italy NT became great during the early 2000s when the Italian League was at its very best with all greatest foreigners playing there.

    I don't agree with you. I only think that they shouod make smarter transfer and bring more stronger players and not only 1 or 2 strong players in their teams. Seria A is still the best league to watch in world.


    Look at this, Novara has Fabris, Fawcet, Poland Opp(Sorry don't know name of her), Cruz, Malesevic and they had Helena. That is to many players. They had Cruz, Malesevic and Helena (all OH), Why not to have 1 stronge OH instead of 3 average ones. + they transfer Bosetti this year.

    Because not all Italian clubs have that much money anymore so that they can hire all the best players. Look at Pomi's bench, probably all of those players together receive the salary that only Calderon gets in Eczacibasi. Italy still has top level foreign players as Alisha, Ognjenovic, Hodge etc but not all teams are star studded as in the past..

    I read/heard a rumor about Zhu Ting. It was said that the speakers of the match Novara - Pomi yesterday said that Zhu Ting is close to sign with Fenerbahce. They want her to play with Kim YK to learn from her because she is the best example what playing abroud made to her. I didin't watch the match and i don't understand italian can anyone confirm that? Maybe there is a possibillity to rewatch the match and to listen what he said about this. I dont know when in which set he said that but i just heard that the speaker said that in this match.

    I don't think it's true.. the speakers of Rai Sport are not close to Fenerbahce and not close to Zhu Ting, so how they know all that before the turkish media..?
    Usually when there is a rumor about Fenerbahce the fans spread it quickly on the social media.
    I hope that Rai Sport speakers are right and i'm wrong.. i really want to see Kim+Zhu Ting duo in Fener :cheesy: .

    One of the best players and one of the best clubs,why not?


    Zhu Ting's original club in china is Henan,which has nearly fallen to A2 in this season.The coach was interviewed to say that the club maybe release Zhu in next season, thus Zhu could be in top clubs in the west,and can't threat Henan in Chinese League.
    The money paid for Zhu could bring some foreing players in Henan Club,Chinese League expecting foreingers,so did Henan who lacks of money but keep the best Chinese star right now.

    Zhu and Kim in same team, that would be amazing :white:

    I hope it won't happen. I don't want to see the best player in the world playing like a second libero in order to let play an all about spiking player beside her. Zhu Ting is useless.

    L. Bosetti can stay and play as a receiving OPP as she used to. Zhu Ting is a much better receiver than similar players to her (including Meijners, Neriman...) and has a lot to learn already...

    I think he's referring to Kim... at least personally I wouldn't define L.Bosetti the best player in the world :gone:
