2018 / 2019 Transfer Rumors & Discussion

  • THY management really thinks they can compete in Sultanlar Ligi with Jelena Nikolic ?

Depends what you mean by "compete"...if you mean title, then only 3 (or 2) teams are realistically competing for that, so it wouldn't seem as too much a handicap.

for example..making it to the playoffs.....i havent been watching her for ages...i guess her level should have been dropped during those times..she was a really good attacker once at her best..tbh,i cant be sure of that.maybe she can do what Jerkov did in Çanakkale etc can she ?

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I wasn't denying that nowadays Nikolic cannot be called anything but a bad player. Certainly she would be a liability for ANY Turkish team, but how BIG a liability would depend on what are those team's ambitions.

But definitely, if I were in charge of any of the Turkish teams, I would not be offering her a place on my team. IMO, she should have retired this year (or even in the previous year).

She is not at Jerkov's level these days. She can be a decent scorer for a mid-level team but I don't think she can be the main scorer. In 2016-17 she played in Montichiari and finished second bottom of Serie A only ahead of Club Italia and that was with Malagurski as the main scorer.

  • i guessed THY (turkish airlines) could build a better team..i dont know Aneta Havlickova's level.she should still be a good opposite.Şeyma Ercan is good for them as local OH..they should have transferred a talented younger foreigner instead of Nikolic. e.g. why couldnt they sign Daalderop (earlier than Firenze) ?

  • I watched THY at play-offs. Nikolic was not good enough at all even in 2nd division play-offs. Havlickova was good though, and yes they should have signed someone like Daalderop or maybe a Polish OH or somth.

Btw their local player Yagmur Mislina Kilic is super talented, I wish she stays and she plays together with Seyma rather then Nikolic. But I think Mislina Kilic will leave THY most likely

And here we go again, same procedure as every year

PLAYERS CHOOSE CLUBS, NOT VICE VERSA!

Clubs make offers to many players and players have many offers from clubs. If there is mutual interest there will be further negotiations, and in the end the player decides where she signs.

Daalderop surely had many offers, and I guess she chose Firenze because Dijkema feels well there and because she can work with a very good coach like Caprara. Much better than fighting against relegation in Turkey

  • Mislina is actually a Gs player right? I feel like she might return depends on their foreign transfers.

Mislina is GS's player and I will be surprised if they will sent her on loan this season again, since they lose both Neslihan & Seda. Mislina can play both opposite and OH, kind of as universal as Seda but a better receiver than her.

I agree on Matthias, why would any promising foreigners go to a club like THY and work with Suphi Doganci? They should instead transfer someone like Crncevic who is a good player but not that young. I told you all, THY's only ambition this season is clearly to stay in VVSL. We also don't know how other teams will look like, Karayollari, Bursa, Nilufer etc, we havent heard any transfer moves from them. This is worrying especially thinking of USD/Euro - TL exchange rates, we might watch a lower quality VVSL this season :wavy:

  • Does somebody knows who will play for Pesaro ? They had really good names in their roster. Can they lift it up on next level this season ?

  • Pesaro hasn't got the money any longer, let alone 76% of the team having already moved somewhere else.

Cambi, Nizetich, Olivotto signed with Bergamo/Novara, Aalbrecht & Van Hecke are waiting for a call from a bigger team, hence the justified pessimistic trend surrounding volley fans and the City itself...

A 3rd team from A2 will replace Pesaro :teach:

  • id like to see Changning in Istanbul....she may not adjust herself very well to the volleyball being played in Istanbul, not meet the expectations from her or she may have a very good season .its up to Istanbul teams. They should take some risks
i think there's no need to specify under every post every time that its up to the player's desire (in this case ,she is Changning) to play here in some of Istanbul clubs and her situation with her current club and the other options :wavy:

I do see that need as long as I keep reading the same stupid "I don't understand why club A didn't sign player X" posts all over

i find " if players really want bla bla" comments as stupid too..all the time same story..
im just a user and i just state my opinions here im not a representative of any clubs here..its up the clubs to establish a connection with the players and their current clubs and make the environment better for them etc

The issue here is not so much language used, but the way you are thinking about how it is that players come to play for clubs.

It's obvious from your posts that you fail to understand that it's not a one-way street. It's just not enough for a club to want some player, for that player to actually come and play for that club. The player in question has to be interested.

And no, money-spending power or the prestige (or strength) of the league is not necessarily enough to convince a player. It's obvious that you think, because Turkish league is strongest in Europe that as long as some Turkish club is interested in some player, that it should be a done deal. That it's natural that the player SHOULD chose to come to that club.

When that comes, you assume that it must be the fault of the club, that they didn't do enough. But what Matthias has been trying to tell you (impatiently, because it's clear he has lost patience trying to explain this many times), is that is not necessarily so. The club could have done everything right, everything in their power, and STILL not convince the player to come (THAT could be for any number of reasons).

  • I think it's enough to question a club's choice of players but considering this is a transfer rumour and discussion thread. We have to be discussing actual rumours and not suggestions. I feel it's only fair we do this right.

Favorite players: M: Maxim Mikhaylov, Murilo, Serginho, Aaron Russell, Otavio, Simone Giannelli, Ivan Zaytsev, Tsvetan Sokolov, Michał Kubiak, Mariusz Wlazly, Pawel Zagummy W: Sheilla, Zhu Ting, Natalia, Fe Garay, Fofao, Gabi, Thaisa, Foluke Akinradewo, Wei Qiuyue, Ding Xia, Carli Lloyd, Fabi, Natalia Goncharova, Yuko Sano, Saoris Kimura and Sakoda

  • I agree with Meatballs I don't know if you guys knew this but The Turkish economy and the Turkish Lira (currency) have reached a historical low and Turkey is failing completely economically, I'm not sure how much this affects the volleyball sponsors but can only imagine it does by a lot. We have to wait a little longer to see if it actually does affect them but it seems Turkish league may have troubles next season staying a powerhouse. I really hope it doesn't though and the Turkish league only grows :?:
