2019 FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League

  • I love single hand set from macros😍

  • YESS

Lets be honest guys, the home crowd deserves to win that match!

  • Well, it was a joy. Too much errors sometimes, but an enjoyable match nonetheless.

Zehra actually resembles Thaisa, when she celebrated the point before match point, I felt the same passion and hunger inside her

  • ugh... i hate that it ended that way... i can't stand that smug look on gui's face. puke.

Yeah, it's too bad. It's why I'm kind of anxious for this to be over, as much as I love so many of the players, I want to get back to watching Japan v Japan. Volleyball without puke moments

  • This VNL was not a pirority for Russia and the results speak for itself. Russia will be a different team once Goncharova, Fetisova, Koroleva returns. Even Parubets and Voronkova are not physically ready.. I'm confident we will have a different Russia come Olympic qualifiers and maybe Russia will surprise us just like WCH Russia played surprisingly good even w/o Goncharova :wavy:

if they show such awful performances in ECH and OGQ, Pankov will probably be fired like Kuzyutkin and Marichev by RVF:gone:

  • Gözde Yılmaz is being a great useless player again:obey::roll:

I think having such a versatile player like is very very useful for the team. I would rather take her as backup opp than Meryem for sure.

My concern about this roster so far libero Simge's bad shape. She had an amazing VNL last year. She was so-so during this season in Eczacıbaşı but her level dropped significantly during the end of season. I don't understand how Eczacıbaşı will rely on an inexperience newly converted libero as back up of Simge:aww:

Aslı showed us all one more time, it is not all about height. 6 blocks!:cheesy: Unfortunately, Yasemin didn't make a good impression during the limited time she played. I think Aslı deserves more to be the 4th MB next to Eda, Zehra and Kübra considering she is very good serving sub as well. Zehra played finally a good match after playing terrible in last two game and being the reason of losing both matches. I hope she can mature her game and be more stable soon. Otherwise Kübra can easily grab her starting position next to Eda.

I hope people would finally agree that Ebrar as OH is not a smart idea, at least right now.

  • I don't agree that Zehra played terrible, she made some big mistakes at sp's yesterday yes but also the decisions at that time to her were bad. Zehra has had a very good VNL actually being one of the best MBs, she had many amazing performances. The stats agree also. I think she is slowly becoming a world-class player if not already. And lets not forget, she is just 19.

What I would say is: finally Asli has a good match :S but it was a great performance block wise I have to say, I've never seen her as good in block. She is usually the first player they use for block-out. I wish Beyza wasn't injured tbh, we do need a player like her at times. Now I would pick Asli too as 4th MB and let Yasemin mature her game.

  • btw Ebrar as OH is still going strong for me :super: especially now, it is the time for her to develop now not when its too late. It doesnt matter if she makes a couple mistakes.

And I think that one season as OH could be really useful to her to grow up as a player. After that, it would be possible that she doesn't turn out to be as good as Opp, but all the process will be helpful for her and for Turkey

  • unbelievable. i only watched the first 3 sets of this match, DOM were up 2-0, and 17-11 in the 3rd set... i cannot believe they couldn't close out the match. well, i can, because i always say DOM has trouble with JPN and their super fast, super defensive game.

well, in the first 2 sets, de la cruz was a beast, so many blocks and aces in addition to kills. but JPN also targeted her for passing, and that strategy paid off. marte is still so shaky in her setting... sigh. and when they do the double-sub, the 2nd setter, perez, is still so green and unstable... both eve and brayelin saw very limited duty due to injuries. pena came in for rivera in 3rd set and then we saw why kwiek still goes with rivera... pena not a good defender in backrow.

  • but players like Tomkom and Pleumjit are still valuable to the team.

I love both of them and the rest of the Golden girls dearly, but as we have seen, the younger girls just won't step up or at least play like they should and cave under pressure rather easily. It's always the older veterans to the rescue. All the younger players, including the injured ones that aren't here at the VNL can be consider veterans themselves. Ajcharaporn, Thatdao, Hattaya, and Pornpun have been playing on the NT since their late teens and even the two younger ones(Chatchu-on/Pimpichaya) have been on there since they were 14/15.

Thailand have younger setters that are similar to Tomkom, although not at her level, but have the skills down. The hardest one to replace would be Pleumjit. Hattaya is probably the closest MB to PJ, skill wise, but still not there yet. I think she might even be the next captain when the veterans retires.

I agreed. I really thought by 2017 they will utilize the new golden triangle - Ajcharaporn, Chatchu-on, and Pimpichaya because these 3 showed so much potential as a trio. Too bad they keep going back to Willavan and Kantong (although these 2 still can play a very good game). Maybe the golden girls are still there for Tokyo 2020. Hopefully (and I pray to God) they will make it to Tokyo and after that all the golden girls will step down. Pornpun is the closest thing to Tomkom imo. And whatever happened to Thatdao? She was one of the most dominant Thai MB?
