Hirsch made 3 errors at the end of set 2. Zimmermann also has problems at crucial time.

How many service errors have Germany made?
-
Congratulations to Germany!
Fromm had a great performance with 22/33 attacking percentage. His service run helped Germany to gain a huge lead in the tiebreak.
Good game for Krick and Brehme. Reichert's performance was a bit inconsistent, but overall good. Zenger did a good job as well:
Setter and Opposite still have problems. However, the double sub worked for them.

i watched a little bit of POR x ARG. since i don't follow euro leagues much, can someone tell me: is there a dumber player than marco ferreira? i mean, how many stupid errors can someone make, who's supposed to be the best hitter of the team as an OPP? two foot faults in a row, not to mention all those net touches and spraying balls meters out of the court... and he can't be bothered with defense...

If you categorize all OPPs to three groups. Marco Ferreira is for sure the one in the bottom group. He literally is nobody. Never got a chance to play for big clubs. So what do you expect from him?
As to unforced errors, Hernandez from Siena is one of the worst players I've ever seen.

Although Iran lost the match vs Brazil, I feel that the team revived when watching them playing. Perhaps their spirit is back? After many years of mediocre performance since 2015, they finally showed a smooth, solid performance with very good defense and reception; Brazil's serves were so strong in set 4 but they handled very well. Those unforced errors were greatly reduced compared with the past three or four years.
It's unfortunate that they couldn't hold their nerves completely in set 4, that cost them 1-2 points and the entire match. However, the most important thing for them is to maintain this level of solid play this and next year.

Iran already did a good job during GCC in 2017. They beat USA, Italy and France, and ended up taking third place in that tournament.
They played good yesterday too. But considering this is their main NT while Bruno did not go with the team. Otherwise, it won't be that close. Either Fernando Kreling or Thiago Pontes Veloso is not on the same level as Bruno is.

fivb seems to have hired a trio of british announcers for these matches. clayton lucas seems to be pretty good, he provides lots of analysis and opinion in addition to narrating. the other two are just mr. obvious, they say nothing of use and seem to know very little about VB...

I am not sure where to ask it. How Iran manages to grant visa for their players and staff when they need to go to US? Is there a special visa for sports? How does that work for them? I think there were some visa issues a few years ago.

Someone said Kubiak was banned for 6 matches? What happened?
They have not played against Iran yet, then drama already started?
He said some really disgusting stuff about people of Iran (someone posted that in Polish NT thread). To me the punishment is ridiculous, as it's only goal is not to punish Kubiak ( it was known a while ago that he'd only play the first week of NL) but to make sure he doesn't get a bigger punishment from FIVB.

chinese reception is embarrassing. They have difficult with any kind of Server.
-
Portugal has been embarassing today. So many mistakes in every aspect, Italy didn't have to do much. Tomorrow will be a great test for this young italian group.
-
RUS has got be the worst kit this year
-
Poletaev is playing great so far but still I want more from him. Russia's out of system balls are still mostly on pos 4.
He was also part of the passing line when reception was terrible . It's interesting because I've never seen him receive a serve. Maybe when he struggles in attack he can be helpful there.
-
Poletaev saying hello to everyone
-
Defalco is not in hes usual self, Muagatutia needs to go!
-
Why Muagututia ?
-
Volkov and the pipe attack are just never the best of friends.
