2018-2019 Thailand's women's league

  • blue1234 I’m Thai. That’s why I understand the language :)

About Moim, she got injured 2-3 weeks ago during the match against Khon Kaen Star (I think. Haven’t checked though.) They said she would need 2 weeks off. So I think she might be good for the final.

Pornpun, on the other hand, just went through an operation for some personal health issues. I don’t think she’ll play for Khon Kaen as planned. I think the final will be between Nakorn Ratshasima vs Supreme for sure.

  • Sawadee krap ONJ lol....... kob khun krab for your insight and knowledge

Anyway, the main setter of Khon Kaen isn't doing bad. She is ranked first among setters and is good in her own style, but yeah Pornpun may have made more of a differences. Hope it's not too serious and won't affect her for the NT season.

That will be an interesting Finals match up. Both teams will have added fire power in Manganang and Yeliz Basa. Though I don't want Supreme to win, just because in the case they might make it to the WWCC again for the third time. lol...but of course, whoever wins, will still have to fight the other asian club teams during the AVC club championship first to earned their ticket.

  • Oh. You haven’t heard? FIVB just changed the rule again for the WWCC 2019. Supreme will have to compete again for the ticket. It doesn’t matter who wins the TVL final. Supreme will represent Thailand in the Asian Club Championship.

I feel bad for Nakorn Ratchasima. They invest a lot for this year players but they won’t even have a chance to compete in the higher level.

On the other note, Manganang won’t play in the final as Supreme already has 2 foreign players, Moim and Wang Na. Manganang will play in the Super League only.

  • I wasn't aware. I thought they had already earned their 2019 WWCC ticket with the title from last year's AVC club championship. :'(

I wouldn't mind if Supreme happens to be the winner of AVC club championship this year again, but if only they will send a stronger rooster to the WWCC 2019 this time. Otherwise, sorry, Supreme, may a strong Chinese or Japanese club win lol.

And yeah, what a shame. Nakhon invested a lot and even are having the best results to date so far too.........I wonder if Nootsara is earning as much or close to what she earned while with Fenerbache? Even if not close, she probably is the highest paid Thai athlete in the league along with the other veteran girls from the NT next.....

  • my guess is that Mercy won't be playing. She probably isn't fit enough yet.

ONJ are the two Brazilian players from khon Kaen also injured? I notice both haven't really been playing or were they just signed for the first leg of the season?

on the note of Brazilian players, I actually liked Eli Enouch from last year better than both the two new ones this season.

  • Moim is officially out from the Super League according to the Thai media. The deadline for player submission was yesterday. Supreme has Wangna, Manganang, and Zhang on the list. Nakorn Ratchasima has Basa and Mai.

People are actually more excited about the Super League than the actual TVL now ;)

blue1234 The two Brazilian players were injured. One of them already left at the end of leg 1. Another player is still with the team but absent for the whole leg 2.

Khon Kaen had very promising players at the start of leg 1. I don’t know what happened to them lately. Only the Libero, Thapapaipun, is doing exceptionally good job.

I hope Thatdao’s injury is not too bad as well. It’d be unfortunate if she has to be away from the NT team again.

  • Seems like khon kaen is cursed or just bad training? haha...I think even Karina Krause is injured? Haven't seen her play the last couple of matches either. Though Chitaporn and Hathairat are doing ok in the absence of Thatdao and Karina. Whatever Thatdao's injuries are, I hope it's only minor, Will be sad if she had to wait almost 2 years again to play with the NT. And by that time, I don't think she will be back to form anymore...speedy recovery, as I really would like to see her during the VNL if possible.

What do you think of Hathairat for the NT instead of Watchareeya? Watchareeya seems to be a better blocker(on low spikes), but she is shorter, doesn't jump very high, attacks are ok, but could be improved and then there is Hathairat. Who is taller, better attacker(especially the slides) and can jump and block a bit higher, though still can use improvements just like Watchareeya.

  • Hathairat shows very good potential. Especially with the absence of Thatdao and Karina. I don’t know she wasn’t called in for the NT team.

I have to check her age as someone said the younger players will be called in later for the U-23 team. It’s just an internal arrangement of budget. They all are going to practice together, the Senior and U-23 teams.

  • I hope ณัฐธิดา ครองชื่น (Natthida) will get the call to the U23 team. When ever she is on court, she isn't much of an impact, but with her height, I think she can be a good future blocker if trained and developed well.

  • agreed, Basa was on fire. 30 big points to go with her first play with the team, way to go. Though she is already in game form, since she recently played in the Indonesian proliga as well and won the title with her team.

ONJ will it be best of 3 or 5 games or is this it for the super league? And any clue why Manganag didn't play?

  • blue1234 No. There is only one game for the final. The league is done.

Manganang (and Zheng) will be playing for only the Super League which starts tomorrow due to the foreign players quota.

Yesterday match was crazy. Basa scored 30 points in 3 sets and Nootsara was on fire. I didn’t follow the Indonesian league but people said her performance wasn’t in this level in that league. Nakorn Ratchasima made a very good decision hiring her just in time for the final.

Judging from yesterday performance, I think they would win with or without Basa though :)
