  • What? I'm really shocked that Amporn decided to return after 6 years break. Maybe she wanta to help the team to qualify for Olympics.

I feel that last year Chatchu-on and Ajcharaporn were injured. In the "history", Onuma and Thatdao also got injured so "heavily" for a long time. One more person, one more insurance.

  • Will the golden era players play until their 40s?

  • Will the golden era players play until their 40s?

lol...I think just until 2020( hopefully that is the case)

But yeah, i think the golden girls should have hung their sneakers up after they didn't make it in 2016. The younger girls are more than capable of handling the nt team duties by themselves already. Some of the girls like Thatdao, Hattaya, Pornpun and Ajcharaporn has been playing with the senior nt since their late teens and have more than enough experiences to carry the team along even if they often loses to other teams...that's ok, that's how you learn and develop....

  • I think PJ and Wilavan are probably retired soon. Maybe after the qualification if they don’t get to the Olympic or after the Olympic if they can get the ticket.

Nootsara also said if they get to the Olympic, she can finally stop playing lol

Onuma and Malika are relatively younger. So they might have 2-3 years before the retirement.

Patcharee Sangmuang, 41 years old now, still plays volleyball as the member of Opart 369 in 2018–19 Women's Volleyball Thailand League.

  • Not sure where I read it before, but Wilavan said something like she will keep playing vball as long as her body allows. So if and when the golden girl retires from nt duties, I think most will still keep playing at club level....

Thailand has plenty of younger teen talents around, but they lack height...i'm patiently waiting to see if the young 17 year old 198 cm girl will get to make her debut on nt someday. She certainly is tall, but seems to not have grown into her body yet. Weak arms and legs...maybe if and when she makes the nt, she will be Thailand's own Zhu Ting or at least KYK. LOL

What's the name of this 198 cm girl?

  • What's the name of this 198 cm girl?

น้องดรีม สูง or translate to "Nong Dream" from google translate(but i'm not 100%, so that may or may not actually be her real name and maybe just a nick name? So far they have assess her current shape and she isn't ready for senior or national youth team. But the NT coaches are taking note and keeping an eye on her progress for the future....

  • ONJ do you know why sasipaporn haven't been called to the NT pool yet? I think if she did, she can be a good support for the team. She is young and seems a lot better than Wipawee and she also can play OP too.

Then there are some young girls I would like to see in the NT in the future too, like Usa, Thanacha, Tichakorn etc. What do you think of them?

It has been discussed in Thai webboard (and I can’t confirm it) about Sasipaporn that she was called in for practicing with NT team several times. She was, however, discharged due to disciplinary issues (skipping practices, etc).

Other young girls are really promising. I personally like Viranyupa from Nakorn Raschasima team. She’s tall and shows very good spiking force.

They said the younger ones will likely to be called in for U-23 team. They’ll practice together with the senior team.

  • ahh, so she is not very committed...that's unfortunate

that's good, Thailand does need a future taller and stronger attacking OP to compete against others once Malika retires. Not that Pimipichaya isn't doing a good job either, she is a smart hitter and often is able to find the gaps to squeeze the ball through, but wished she would hit the ball harder like Ajcharaporn and Chatchu-On are doing in the OH position. Though I think Thatdao could have been a good OH/OP too if she wasn't a MB. Not westerner tall, but tall and strong enough to cause damage.

  • This year's Korean-Thailand Pro Volleyball All Star Super Match(friendly before the NT season starts) will be held in two cities in Thailand. April 5 in Nakhon Ratchasima and April 7 in Bangkok. The previous two edition had only been 1 day event, but the popularity and demand must have been high. So this year, it has been expanded to two dates this year to accommodate the fan's needs.

  • According to the news, Soraya has already withdrawn from the NT team. They might call in another setter. If not, as mentioned above, it’ll be Nootsara >>>> Kullapa > Tichaya.

Pimpichaya is also injured during practice and needs to rest for at least 4 weeks.

There’re at least 7-8 players missing from the camp based on the list above due to injury, withdrawal, etc. :,(

  • That's not good. They only have Pimpichaya and Malika as the main OP. Hope she gets better in time for this summer nt season. But Wanitchaya or Jutarat aren't bad OP choices either if it had to come to that.

For setter, maybe they can try Jaisen and Sirima(not sure of her name, but the back up setter of Nakhon)?
