    Since the WC Balkestein-Grothues has knee problems. She went to the Netherlands to check her knee by some specialist. She isn't fit yet, because she can't move freely on court. Her goal is to be fit during olympic qualification tournament in January. I hope she is fit in January, because they really need her defensive skills🤞

    If she wont be fit till January, who else does Netherlands have as a defensive OH? I can't think of a reception line of Buijs-Plak😱

    I think he meant she should be on court for Balkestein-Grothues instead of Plak.

    IMHO Daalderop should get the starting spot above Buijs and Plak. If everyone is healthy, Daalderop and Balkestein-Grothues should be the outside hitter duo.


    Jasper is the closest defensive outside hitter the Dutch team has right now, but her reception isn't that stable either...

    Without Grothues NL is pretty much dead anyway tbh in reception. Plak-Daalderop, Buijs-Daalderop, Plak-Buijs (wow hell no:rolll:) or Jasper-'any of the three'


    None will be enough imho.


    Which is probably why Maret went home and ditched Aydin lol (for now), she needs to make it! Understandable decision, I think she will be healthy before OGQ. Well, at least let's hope so. Her form will be something else also... Otherwise we indeed have to hope 1 of Jasper or Daalderop(her mostly) have to have the tournament of their lives. And I still have the dream of having Bongaerts as starter which probably also won't happen :aww:

    Problem with Daalderop is that her high is high but her low times are really low. Consistency-wise I find Buijs still better although Daalderop might have bigger potential to develop a good OH but for now she doesn't seem to be the savior of Dutch NT

    I agree but with Sloetjes playing like she is, the NT might need someone who can have those high highs more than they need a consistent player.

    Whit the current shape of Sloëtjes and Plak she can be useful as opposite, but also as outside hitter she can be really useful if Daalderop or Buijs doesn't deliver!

    I'm curious who will be left out of the roster when Meijners comes back?:/


    It could be one of Sloëtjes/ Plak, but I won't believe he would do that. Another option is leaving Jasper out or he will take only three middle blockers. That would be sad, because than Lohuis probably won't make it:( Koolhaas is playing great lately, so she deserves a spot.


    I would leave Jasper out of the roster. Than I would use Schoot as the main libero and use Knip as receive substitution.

    I always have the impression that Schoot is the better receiver while Knip is the better defender. Thus I would have use Schoot as service specialist indeed. Or do you think Schoot is more experienced and that's why she should be the main Libero?


    By the way, unless Groutheus is fully recovered, I would keep Jasper in the roster

    I don't only think Schoot is the better receiver, but overall she is a better libero.

    Knip had a really bad summer and I don't see her improve this season, because she made a really stupid move going to Blaj. She is playing in a weaker league and is only being used as receive substitution:down: I had hope for her, because in 2017 she played pretty decent!
