Sorry but carlini is having hard time connecting to her attackers than poulter.
I think poulter might be the 1st option.
Usa is more of fast play and poulter is doing that job more effectively than carlini. Thougj, carlini has better fd.

That really the reason, though? if thats the case shouldnt that be more reason to field her in today? Norceca isnt really a hard nut to crack.

Lauren Carlini still missing. Did she go home ahead?
Whats with USA girls disappearing during tournaments?
-
Into set 4 now; US down 1-2 to DR: 19-25; 23-25; 25-15.

Did Carlini have to show up in Russia for play?

USA won fourth set 25-20; tied 2 sets apiece.

DR wins 15-9 in the fifth set to take the title.
DR has had a good year this year. So glad that the USA has already qualified for Tokyo at this point. DR should easily take the NORCECA qualifiers. -
Good for DOM! Any info on who was named MVP?

here’s the entire match:
chiaka didn’t play at all?

Thank you God, now players can finally go to their clubs...

I watched only the first 2 sets. Poulter was really shaky, Carlini's absence couldn't hurt them more. Hill was bad, could find a way to score, so was Bartsch.. she made so many attacking errors. The Dominicans played great defense surprisingly and made a lot less errors than usual, however US should have won that. Chiaka did not enter at all, I wonder why. Drews had a good impact coming in, and I think it's clear she's ahead of Lowe right now. Let's hope we find out what happened to Carlini

Carlini should be in Moscow on 18th October, i think that leaves her enough time to play the final and then go to Russia. Maybe they wanted to give her a day to spend at home, thinking they got this

Oh, didn't know she was on the awarding ceremony, must be the injury then?

Hill choked again big time! Like every final match there is a big chance that her time will loss. I don't know why....

Agreed!! As surprised as I was with the USWNT's roster for this, it wasn't a major heartbreak, tournament-importance-wise (though the team wanted it/ tried their best). Here's my desired/idealized A-team starting lineup for Tokyo: Akinradewo, Carlini, Larson, Ogbogu, Robinson, Thompson, Wong-Orantes. So there!
-
My ideal a-team is:
OH: Robinson, Bartsch-HackleyOPP: Drews
MB: Ogbogu, Akinradewo
S: Carlini
L: Wong-Orantes
Hope they all get through to the lineup.

Just reviewed each of our optimal, fantasized, A team starting lineups. Only two differences: Thompson + Larson v. Drews + MBH (both of whom I would have on my squad (and be amongst the first of my subs)). One thing about Jordan: she, to me, is like a 'swiss army knife' of this team. multifaceted & multitalented. Thompson was just raking (killing it) during the Summer before returning to her college. I feel that those seven - with the usual suspects as backups - can win!
