I missed her again. My sweet Nikki.

Another not convincing win by Schwerin, which made streams of errors (30 in total, 7 more than hosts Vilsbiburg). The "Red Raves" could put up a good fight after a feeble first set, what was contributed too by both sides IMHO.

Good news from Straubing: Dreblow and even Izquierdo might be available in the cup match in Stuttgart on Saturday, Große Scharmann is almost certain. Morgenroth will be with the team again, so they might have 10 players. Only Meis and Lovo Steinsvag are definitely still out.

German DVV cup:
Erfurt prevailed only in tie-break in Grimma at second league site, not far away from Erfurt by the way.
Todays most interesting match will be Schwerin against Wiesbaden, with those many errors the cup defenders are producing currently their risk to lose is much higher as most would expect, I guess.
Stuttgart should win straightforward against Straubing.
The most balanced match should be tomorrow in Münster vs. Potsdam, this outcome is really hard to predict, despite Potsdam looks stronger so far it will be no way easy for them in Münster.

Yesterday Erfurt had to go to 5 sets to beat a 2nd league team, and now also Aachen lost 1st set against Stralsund

Channon Thompson injured her foot in the very first rally of the match, it didn't seem like she twisted her ankle so maybe it was a bone injury or even Achilles tendon, it was weird. Straubing put up a great fight but simply didn't have enough quality to really put Stuttgart in danger.
Schwerin - Wiesbaden 3:0 (25:17 25:17 25:18)
http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2019-20/Women/8107.pdf
MVP: Lauren Barfield / Renate Bjerland
Apparently Wiesbaden's strategy was to serve everything to Pogany, which turned out to be a very bad idea as she received super solid today, so Bongaerts could do whatever she wanted most of the time.
DOL for QF will take place tomorrow evening.

Except for set 2 not a very good match from Stuttgart, on the other hand Straubing played quite well. Of course a bit difficult for Stuttgart to focus after the injury right at the beginning. Straubing took a quick lead but still lost the first set.
I hope Thompson's injury is not too serious. Berger is no real alternative (yet), so they don't have a backup left now. Maybe they'll dress Cesar in a regular shirt now, she played OH in second league (Cesar seems to have a hopefully minor health issue as well though, as she was present yesterday but not warming up and not in player's uniform.)
After the match it was announced that it was Bura's last match (at least for now). Havili was at Scharrena, it seems they are confident they can get the paperwork done next week.

i have heard that Sofia Turlà signs in Straubing.

Top match is Potsdam vs. Schwerin and the latter is no way the favourite there IMHO.
Easy match for Stuttgart at home against Erfurt.
Vilsbiburg should win in Suhl, but Dresden vs. Aachen is also wide open, currently Aachen is better than Dresden, but Dresden has home advantage - remember, that Dresden lost in the league already against Aachen despite having had home advantage there as well.

I think on Stutgart will be with out fight. Rest will be big fight and not favorite even Vilsbiburg is not favorite.

Stuttgart with a wildcard
Very lucky draw in first two rounds indeed (both at home, both against teams from the lower half of the league) for Stuttgart.
-
Easy pickings for Dresden against a very young team yesterday. I was a bit surprised that Korhonen did not play much, only towards the end of sets 2 and 3. I thought they would take the opportunity to give her some playing time and rhythm.

Channon Thompson suffered a partial tear of plantar tendon and will be out for about 8 weeks

The referees in Potsdam-Stuttgart are simply scandalous So many wrong decisions and always against Potsdam!
