Turkey - Vestel Venüs Sultanlar Ligi - 2019/2020

  • Are Besiktas a team full of good servers or Karayollari's reception was just awful?

BJK has a couple of serve specialists like Arelya, Dilara Bilge, Mislina Kılıç and other good servers like Fulden Ural and Busra. However Karayollari are just such a young team and their best player Merve Atlier (played for EczV if you remember) got injured in the match today and I hope she is fine but it also caused them to feel a little insecure I guess and they are in general a bit shaky because of their age. Also Symone Abbott their USA OH was actually terrible in reception indeed which is why she got subbed, it seemed like she got hit by sniper with each service.

So a bit of both I guess.

  • Thanks...I didnt know I was speaking with a ...

Its an international rule to write a players surname, I think It should be clear...

    YOU DONT HAVE A CHOİCE...

says who? some troll who hangs out here? have you seen all the players, including most BRA, that use their first name in their shirt? or moussavi? YES, THEY HAVE A CHOICE.

And she has a beautiful name, not something atrocious like Malgorzata...

again, says who? malgorzata is simply marguerite in polish. who are you to judge other people's names?

    get a life, you loser.

  • btw this season the youth points will not be counted above the regular teams points so it'll be less confusing and more straight to the point.

Oh really? What do you think about this change? I indeed thought it was a good way to motivate small teams to invest their youth academy. I think it is better criteria to distinguish very close teams, at least better than set or point ratio

I liked the system too tbh and how young players felt involved but it also made the scores a bit messy I guess... I'm not super against it or pro. I'll roll both ways.

  • As far as I can remember, Zhu Ting did have her last name on the jersy when she was with Vakifbank. Haak is not the first one, and for sure she will not be the last one.

  • Troll my ass...

I didnt know Zhu was her last name, but it sounds much better than Ting and even her teammates call her Zhu...

35 year old world champion gets her first name on her shirt, for the first time in her career but

20 year old prospect who achived nothing significant can not...

Maja Ognjenovic, had Ognjenovic on her jersey, in her 2 year stint with Eczacıbaşı...

I told you its a Vakıf thing, some kind of tradition...Not complying with this simple formality is peculiar to me..

it might be the most normal thing to you...

if you cannot see my point you can go to hell...

  • We are counting many players who didn't comply this so-called super duper important tradition of Vakıfbank which only you noticed. but you still want to blame haak with your delusional logic just because you think Zhu sounds better than ting so she can be excused. When haak use her surname, she becomes cynical bitch.:what:

I think we should blame Haak for being super ginger as well. Players in Vakıfbank were never been so ginger. How dare you Haak! Even a world champion like Maja is humble enough to be just a brunette but you with all your prettiness try to be ginger. Such an attention seeking behavior. I think Haak should already be fired. She is an attention seeking ginger with evil thoughts, moreover she played terrible in first two sets of season, which is a very legit reason to bash out a player:whistle:

  • Wht the actuall f##k with these names on the jerseys.. Maybe she wanted to say Haak because it's shorter? Glinka had Glinka on the shirt too.. Malgorzata might gave been too long.. and who the f##k cares? Maybe Vakif lets them decide what name they want to have on the jersey.. cut the BS already

  • Well, I watched first game of the league and I have to say I don’t see any talent in Elif Sahin. She is young and all, she might improve in time but there is nothing she has to offer except her height. There are young players who have some raw talents and you would think that “if she works hard..” but that’s not the case in Elif, in my opinion. Considering she was transferred by Eczacibasi last year and is supposed to join them next season, I don’t think she will improve.

It could be a forced reason due to currency rates in Turkey that Besiktas doesn’t have any foreign players but considering they always tend to find low quality foreign players with a few exceptions and waste their money with them, I think it is for the best. Their biggest problem is the coach, Kamil Soz who doesn’t have any volleyball understanding whatsoever.

By the way, it was mentioned Kamil Soz was banned from attending matches for 4 matches from last season. Does anybody remember why?

  • Hahahaha 2 Page on this thread because of name of jersey

    :obey:

Neither Belien nor Rhyhkliuk was low quality player last year

  • Since we are already debating petty topics, can someone tell me why KYK, for whom this is only a 2nd year at Vitra, is made a captain, and not Boskovic for whom this is her 5th year at the club, and who is now the longest-tenured player in this squad? Does that mean she can expect to never be made a captain (at least while Motta is coach), regardless of anything?
