Turkey - Vestel Venüs Sultanlar Ligi - 2019/2020

  • tbh Carli + Gibbemeyer is a MUCH bigger waste of money than even 1.5 million on Haak

I mean yea the middles of EczV are not great, but I'm definitely not yearning for Gibbemeyer either :rolll: let Yasemin play

  • the last two sets kim&natalia was nonexisting in attack. i know it is not 2015 anymore but still one expects more from them. i know in tiebreak since boskovic was on fire they didnt get many sets but they should be helping boskovic more in attack.

  • Instead of double subs, Motta should've take out Kim or Natalia from time to time to keep them 100% when it matters the most.. Both are returning from recurring injuries and we all know that Natalia is made of glass... you cannot overuse her... I know they rest against small teams, but you cannot keep two OH doing absolutely nothing like Motta did in the last two sets... This time, Boskovic was Boskovic and won the game by herself, but she could wake up someday in a bad mood and if that happens, Ecz is damned

  • Natalia and Kim made some kill blocks. I know that they are not receivers like K. Robinson.. but who you would put on her places? Hande its not a good receiver either and she was used as opp in this game.

  • Aylin has never been the best reception-wise, she always was rather a defensive specialist. Maybe Terzic should use 2 lib system

How does the 2 libero system work? And how about the transition from 1 lib to another? Do they have to change to the player first and then change to the next lib or can a lib replace another lib directly?

Just like players in other positions (offensive/defensive outsides or blocker/attacker MBs) liberos have some areas they are specially very good at, either good defender or good receiver. That's why a trainer can use receiver Libero on the court while receiving and use defender libero while serving. Trainer doesn't need to make a sub, they can change anytime in the game (of course after a point is finished)

You mean libero, right? So a libero can change another libero on court right away. I try to find this in FIVB rulesbook but my lazy ass can' find it.

And when the changes between MB and libero happens, you can put any of the libero.. no need to change libero for libero...

  • The green mountain dancing giraffes are playing right now and I don't find a stream :(

  • Finally, a Kool Kill. A low key game so far. Derya is playing politely. What's up with that?

  • She played really well in set 1 according to the stats but Tugba stole set 2. Good comeback from the AGY girls to take set 2, 25-22 (2-0)

If they win today they'll be 6th above PTT and THY

sitenoise Nilüfer is 2nd last atm so naturally AGY feels less pressure I guess but they should not become cocky XD it is still early season

  • How come when a team sends a player, or even two players, way off court to get a ball, and they end up skyballing it back over the net ... why doesn't the other team send it back with two touches? Quickly, before those ball chasers are back in defensive position? I don't think I've ever seen a team do that.

Tugba hit smart in set 2  Smart is cool. This is a very polite match, everyone hitting the ball softly. Nary a Koolhaas HULK SMASH

It can happen sometimes but you have to stand at the right time and place it perfectly and the ball has to really arrive perfectly and not from a too high point which it usually is to directly spike back.

It is just one of those things that sounds like they make sense when thinking about it but is way harder in practice. Even the male teams who can jump higher/quicker don't do that often at all.

Edit: I mean for it to be effective ofc, when just sending it back with two touches the players can usually adjust perfectly

I'm sure it's easier to think about than to do, especially if it's a super high skyball coming over, but a lot of those that come back from chasing the ball way out of bounds come back a lot like a free pass. I'm sure it's tricky difficult and would require a skillful passer but I don't think I've ever seen anyone try it.

Koolhaas picking up the pace here now
