South Korea - Women's V-League 2019-2020

  • ClutchPark913 n zenith , is there a chance Kim Jong min read your complaints? :D

because Hi-Pass just won big against Kixx ... 3-1... I.Just watched the end part of the last set and Park JA interview as MVP...

I hope they can keep their performance...

  • :lol::lol::lol:

Just when I thought that he has nothing up on his sleeves, he suddenly pulls off a great adjustment with Ha Hye Jin on the floor which gives Lee Hyo Hee (and Lee Won Jeong) a lot of attack options. It's good that PJA's physical condition is improving; but IMO, the real game changer for Hi-Pass is Jeon Sae Yan and the stability she's providing on the court.

I hope they can keep their momentum. :)

  • Though hi-pass is in good rhythm right now, in some day the limitation would become clear of not having a foreign player.

Park Jeong Ah really is in a good rhytm now, but her stamina is not that good so she will be exhausetd someday. So Taylor should come back fast as fast as she can. I don't know why hi-pass doesn't even try to change their foreign player....

    • Expressway Hi-pass Yim Myung-Ok becomes the 2nd player to achieve 7,500 successful digs with 24 from the match (now on 7,507).
    • GS Caltex Merete Lutz achieved her first Triple Crown with 12 backcourt spikes, 3 aces, and 4 blocks.

This is the 59th Triple Crown achieve by a female player and Lutz is the 24th player to achieve a Triple Crown.

    Current Team Standings:

  • It is good that GS head coach Cha Sang-Hyun did not use Kang So-Hwi in yesterday match and gave her more time to recover. I'm glad it wasn't a sprain or a fracture and only a dislocation of her right pinky finger.

GS Caltex kids were doing alright in the first set but afterward the reception just fell apart.

Yeah, Jeon Sae-Yan has been really good. Part of the reason they won 3 of their last 4 matches. Btw she kind of look a bit like Yuki Ishii to me.

I wonder if Park Jeong-Ah is the captain now? At the end of the match she goes to signed off on the match result.

6 points gap between 3rd and fourth now.

  • So, no Kang SH and Lee SY greatly affected in Kixx' reception and scoring...

And I was glad Ha Hye Jin didnot play as main OP, just as subtitute, when Hi-Pass v Hillstate... made Hillstate "easier" in defense and won....:)

    Current Team Standings:

  • News Update:

    • KGC head coach Seo Nam-Won (SNW) has voluntarily handed in his resignation due to health reason. SNW will remain with the team as a technical adviser. KGC has promoted assistant coach Lee Young-Taek to the head coach position (not sure if this is temporarily or permanent). Sources: 1, 2, 3
  • Lucia, Kim Mi-Yeon, Lee Ju Ah were all under performed and Lee JY was also not on her good day... Lucia didn't even play in set 5...

on the other hand Hwang MK and Go Ye Rim were also having a bad day in attacking ... but good perform in defense (receiving and digging)

Luckily for Hillstate, Hayley and the 2 MBs were in good form in attacking.....

So Hillstate only lost to Pink Spiders in round 1, and can overcome in the next 2 rounds...

They didn't have solution to overcame Kixx in round 1 n 2 ... I hope they can win in this round 3....

  • I am following World Club Ch this year... From Asia there are 2 China clubs...

Then I looked up Asia Club championship... I'm really surprised that no club from S.Korea participate, where even N.Korea sent its club..

So, I wonder why SK doesn't participate... Is this KOVO league is not member of AVC/FIVB club leagues? Was any SK club ever participate in the previous yrs?

In order to participate in Club Worlds you have to win your continental club championship or receive and pay for a wild card invite. I think S.K boycotts the Asian Club Championships. I read something about that somewhere here.

  • It's because Korean teams are worried about their ability being exposed completely by other league's teams.

The last time korean teams participated asian club championship was 2010 as I remember. KGC participated there and the result was devastating, 9th. (Ref: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wik…b_Volleyball_Championship)

That's because they don't have foreign players, and it was an off-season for them. They make a contract with foreign players that ends when the v-league finishes. So foreign players can't participate there.

Though they can prolong the contract to ACCh, I think korean clubs just don't have any will to do that. I hope in someday they participate in ACCh and compete with chinese, japanese, thailand's club.

  • That's depressing to hear. If it's true it's some seriously wussy nonsense :rolll: I don't know how others work, maybe Thailand sends their NT, China is China. Japan sent Hisamitsu B-team the last couple years, no foreigner. NEC won the thing without a foreigner a few years back.

I would think a healthy KIXX would do well in the competition, or Hillstate, the Pinkies, foreigner or not.

I think so too. V-league is competitive enough to participate in ACCh and fight for the title I think.

The main reason I think they don't participate in ACCh is v-league ends at that time and players think they should get rest like a month after the season. And clubs think that it is just okay with korean league, not thinking about international competitions. It's so sad 😭😭

I believe the last couple few years the ACCh were held in September before the season starts.

I could understand just weighing the cost/risk benefit of participating wouldn’t be worth it but I don’t like thinking they’re just chickens :white:

  • Hi-Pass v Altos... It seems Hi-Pass continue their winning.... another 5 sets

Park jeongah scored 40 points today! It was her personal best scored matches in all season.

And this match was the longest matches ever played in v-league women: 169 min.(2 hr 49min)

Moreover, hi pass decided to cut taylor cook off.

What a glad news! Kim jongmin thought she doesn't have a will to play games. So he decided to send her home. Replacement of another foreign player is not yet decided.
