    Match Stats Summary:

    MVP:

    Achievements:

    • Hyundai E&C Hayley Spelman becomes the 88th player to achieve 50 successful block points with 3 from the match (now on 50).

    Current Team Standings:

  • Match between GS vs Hyundai was really good.

The digs by both teams were spectacular especially at the end of 4th set.

But what set them apart is Hyundai blocking. It just a wall lol. Almost all Hyundai players got blocking points its crazy.

Changing setters frequently didn't seem to work well for GS too. Maybe the attackers got confused with setter's different style.

  • News Update:

    • An official from Heungkuk informed the media that Lee Jae-Yeong (LJY) complained about pain in her right knee during practise earlier today and did not travel with the team to Gimcheon to play against Expressway Hi-pass. LJY already had an ankle (Achilles tendon?) and lower back (waist) injuries after coming back from NT duties (some reports said she also had left knee injury too). Further examination at the hospital will be needed and the team think LJY will be unavailable for next week at the very least. Sources: 1, 2, 3, 4
    • KOVO have announced a change to the start time for the Round 4 match between Heungkuk Life Insurance Pink Spiders vs KGC on the Saturday of February 1st, 2020.

The start time has been moved forward from 16:00 KST to 14:05 KST. Also, the match will be shown on KBS 1TV and not on KBSN Sports like usual. Source: 1

    Current Team Standings:

    Upcoming Schedule:

  • haven't watched the match, but I'm really shocked that Hillstate lost straight set to Altos with full team.... and disappointed....

I hope it's not because they are starting to underestimate bottom 3 teams.. or maybe they're tired/fatigue...

Lee JY injury news is really made me sad... the amount of injuries she has is alarming... if not treated properly and thoroughly, it can really damage her play and make her stop improving and retire early.... I hope she takes a break to "fix" all those injuries, so she can play better after... especially in olympic 2020

There is an update regarding Lee Jae-Yeong condition today. Jae-young was diagnosed with cartilage detachment due to water on her right knee. Luckily the cartilage is not a torn and she will need at least 2-3 weeks of rehabilitation. Source: 1

At least now she will get some rest to recover from those other injuries she already carrying.

I think the coach's stubbornness by refused to at least substitute both Yang Hyojin and Lee Dayeong during IBK match is a problem.

Both players playing full time without rest since came back from NT games. No matter how good both players are, they need to get proper rest.

Plus Hyundai had really packed schedules with only 2 days rest in between match.

Both even said after GS match before that they were both physically tired.

I've said again and again, this coach really need to trust the backup players more, if they want to keep winning.

Hyundai has pretty good backup players, so I don't get it why they didn't use it in crucial time.

    That's some relief...

She posted a letter in her IG (@leejaeyoung17).. I can't read korean, but I assumed it's related to her injuries..

I wish her the best and completely healed of those injuries....

  • I just watched highlight of Hi-Pass v Altos... looks a long and very tiring match.. with tie breaks on tie break set...

  • I just watched highlight of Hi-Pass v Altos... looks a long and very tiring match.. with tie breaks on tie break set...

I can say it was the best match of this season. Hi-pass seems to lose the match with losing 23-25 both in 1st and 2nd set, but they overcame it with enormous spirit. The rally in 10-11, 5th set was definitely the best rally of this season. It was epic!

IBK keeps losing to hi-pass, it's already 0-4. They have been very weak for hi-pass traditionally, but not in this way. If IBK wins this match, I think they could be really dangerous for all teams, but they would lose their spirit because of this game.

New foreigner in hi-pass, Sanchez, seems to be suffering from injury, or at least not in a good shape. I think she has some problems in hamstring. The tragedy of hi-pass's foreign players keep going. Etkinson-Simpson-Sanchez, what a trio.😅😅 It's really sad because with appropriate foreign players, they would be at the top of this league. However it's very good to see Yoo seoyeon-Jeon saeyan-Ha hyejin backup trio playing well in the game.

  • Wow, nother long grueling match it seems Hillstate vs KGC... haven't watched full, because the duration is 2hr47mnt...

I take a peek in end of the match, it's end wirh 22-20 in the set 5! WTH! It must be a heart pumping match for big fans of each team... i hope noone got heart attack....

It was an astonishing match again!

KGC was definitely disappointing in the beginning, but as diouf begins to wake up, the whole team got so much different.

However, only diouf attacking was not enough for KGC to win. She scored 45! and it was not enough...

They definitely need stronger OH. Choi eunji would be excellent as a 2nd option OH, but is not okay as a 1st option OH. We can see Kim miyoun suffering a lot as a 1st option OH as Lee jaeyeong got out of the team because of her injury. Kim miyoun showed good performance so far, but not as a 1st option.

Hyundai's middle blocker played excellent match today. Yang hyojin scored 29 points with 11 blocks, which is her personal best block points. Jung jiyoon scored 21 points, which is also her personal best.

They won the match with the strength of MBs, but Hayley spelman's underperforming is a very big problem. She scored only 13, with 30% of success rate. With Hayley playing like this, Hyundai would be in a hard time.

Plus, Lee dayeong seems to suffering from knee injury after OQ. So many players are suffering from OQ... too sad for it. Hope every player got over this injuries!

  • I gotta say Diouf is the best foreign player this season so far. Follow by Lutz and Anae...

i agree with tiffany , it's unreasonable to play Lee DY full time all the time..

As head coach, she must know the condition of her players and play them accordingly.... She could pay the price if she forced her players..

I hope Lee DY injury is not heavy and she got a break, even it means she doesn't play for the next couple of matches.... her health conditon is more important...

  • Diouf is good with or against asian players because of their height. But she is just average when she is playing with same height like in italy and brazil.

But i do agree she is so far best foreign player this season. But lutz isn't far, she is versatile player too and can play in the middle.
