    Match Stats Summary:

    MVP:

    Achievements:

    • GS Caltex Lee So-Young becomes the 21st player to achieve 200 successful block points with 2 from the match (now on 201).
    • GS Caltex Kang So-Hwi becomes the 31st player to achieve 1,500 points with 16 from the match (now on 1,508).
    • GS Caltex Han Soo-Ji becomes the 12th player to achieve 3,000 successful digs with 8 from the match (now on 3,003).
    • GS Caltex Merete Lutz becomes the 78th player to achieve 500 successful spike points with 24 from the match (now on 500).

    Current Team Standings:

  • Heungkuk head coach Park Mi-Hee blew her top so early in the match. Park Mi-Hee was incensed with anger at the ruling from the video referees when they deem a pancake-dig from Shin Yeon-Gyeong failed to keep the ball from touching the floor. Trying to make her case she got angry for a moment and hit one of the official's laptop screen in anger. A yellow card was shown soon after from the first referee. From that point, the momentum swung in favour of GS.

I saw that play/drama. Getting that worked up at 6-4, or whatever, in Set 1 is kinda weird. To my eyes it looked like it hit the floor because it looked like it bounced further down after hitting her hand. It definitely spun after initial contact which it wouldn't do if it just bounced back up ... or maybe it bounced down from ring finger to pinky. Not a good angle to see if that happened

  • I guess the stress built up as Heungkuk kept losing game after game.

I think the ball hit the floor too when it rolled a bit after it hit the player's hand. then bounced back.

But yeah, Park Mihee's blew up definitely affecting her players performances after that.

  • I thought he is quite good coach so far, but his choice of foreign players are so terrible. Hi-pass's line up was almost perfect in recent years, but has won only 1 title and I think it is because of their foreign players.

In 2016-2017, Kennedy Brian was their foreign player, and she was as terrible as Sanchez right now. She usually taken out of the court because of the bad performance and they play without foreigner many times. After changing foreign player to Hillary Hurly, they won 5 games in a row, which means their korean players are good.

In 2017-2018, Ivana Nesovic was their foreign players and she was excellent. But she was the 1st choice of that draft, all the other coaches said they would choose her.

In 2018-2019, Ivana was hired again. But she has waist injury, which was said before the draft but Jongmin insisted on going with her. As a result she almost did not play with the team and hi-pass again have to play without foreigner for 7(as I remember)games. After Patou Diouck has come, they won 9 straight games and reached the championship games but lost to Heunguk.

In 2019-2020 this season, he could choose Patou again and she wanted that either. She played amazing in the play-off and the championship games, but he didn't choose her.

He chose Sherridan Etkinson and she got out even not playing the 1st match of the regular season. It is said she didn't follow the training session and she was so stubborn.

Hi-pass tried to get Patou again but she was dissapointed that Jongmin didn't chose her, so she didn't come.

He chose Taylor Simpson who has so bad reputation. Again she didn't show up in the games like the past 2 seasons in Heunguk, and hi-pass was planning to accuse her for not fulfilling the contract , but she escaped to US without saying goodbye to teammates.

Their last choice was Sanchez, but as we can see she is no better than korean players.

My patience is done. As we can see hi-pass performed excellent with just middle level foreigner because their Korean member was so good. But they won only 1 title with so many bad foreigners and I think they should win much more with this member.

It is very important to choose good foreign players as a Korean league coach. Lee jungchul got so much title with that. However Kim jongmin is soooo terrible with this task.

Moreover he put aside the substitute players and not using them. As a result they didn't grow well and the starting players got old, there is no one left to play well now.

I would accept hi-pass just go with Jongmin for winning the 1st title, but he already made so many errors with the foreigners. I don't want to see players suffering from bad foreigners agian😥

  • Actually, Hi-pass originally re-drafted Leslie Cikra for the 2016/17 season but she got injured before the season started and Hi-pass then brought in Kennedy Bryan and then later Hillary Hurley.

Interesting about how Kim Jong-Min wanted to keep Diouck for another season but chose someone else and then also Diouck turning down Hi-pass approach after they released Sherridan Atkinson. zenith Were these from news reports sources or were they just rumours among Korean fans?

I have to said it is fairly hard to find a replacement for the foreign player. Teams can only choose from the players who attended the draft (and some other players who are qualified like Hayley Spelman who didn't attend the draft last May in Toronto), plus all the decent one have already joined other teams by August and September. And if they want to recruit one of those qualified player who has already joined another team then they have to buy out the player's contract.

  • My hope is crushed... The "lost vitus" hasaffected Hillstate too.. 😣

It seems the new coach have improve KGC overall teamwork, that they can won 3-1 against Hillstate as the latest of their winning streak..

Surely they grabbed 3rd spot now, don't they?

If Diouf can maintain her great performance and her teammates can keep improving, KGC can be challenger to be champion....

Just out of curiousity, is KGC coach a former volleyball player? I only judged by his height that as tall as Diouf...

    Match Stats Summary:

    MVP:

    Achievements:

    • Hyundai E&C Lee Da-Yeong becomes the 22nd player to achieve 200 successful block points with 3 from the match (now on 202).
    • KGC becomes the 5th team to achieve 22,00 successful spike points with 42 from the match (now on 22,017).
    • Hyundai E&C becomes the 4th team to achieve 23,000 successful spike points with 58 from the match (now on 23,007).

    Current Team Standings:

  • I haven't watch the match between Hyundai and KGC yet but it look at the stats KGC wasn't good in attack but still managed to win thanks to Hyundai poor serve receive and errors (gave away 7 more compare to KGC).

Both Hyundai's back-up liberos were horrible in serve reception. At least Lee Yeong-Ju (the shorter one) did okay with her digs as she was successful with 15 digs out of 16 attempts. The liberos needs to improve quick as other teams will start targeting them more often.

Hwang Min-Kyoung had a rather poor game and Yang Hyo-Jin wasn't as devastating in attack as she is usually is.

Surprisingly on KGC side, Diouf spiking stats wasn't that impressive as she was only on 26.53% spike success rate.

Just out of curiousity, is KGC coach a former volleyball player? I only judged by his height that as tall as Diouf...

Yes, he used to played for South Korean men's team Korean Air Jumbos as a MB from (2000~2009 and 2010~2015). Source: 1, 2

  • Both OP Lucia Fresco and libero Kim Hae-Ran will start for Heungkuk Pink Spiders in tody match against Expressway Hi-pass

Both teams are on losing streak, Heungkuk have lost 7 straight matches and Expressway have lost 4 straight matches.

    Edit:

Expressway Hi-pasas have chosen to start the match with Jeon Sea-Yan instead of Dayami Sanchez. Another change for Hi-pass is Yoo Hee-Ok (former IBK and KGC MB) who haven't played much this season will start as the second MB along with Jung Dae-Young.

    thx for the info...

And I agree from the stat (I didn't watch the match either), it's a poor performance by both team ..

It seems that Diouf is running out of gas in the last 2 matches... luckily, her teammates improve and their opponents were in worse shape ...

    Current Team Standings:

    Upcoming Schedule:

  • Unfortunately, another two players got injured in today match and sadly for Expressway Hi-pass both injured players are from their team. Foreign player Dayami Sanchez hurt her left wrist whilst blocking in the 4th set (10-16) and back-up setter Lee Won-Jeong hurt her left hand when she crashed into the advertisement boards in the 3rd set (2-3).

  • Hyundai E&C have decided that Lee Yeong-Ju will be the libero and Go Yoo-Min will return to being a back-up outside hitter.

IBK Altos Kim Hee-Jin could make a return in IBK match against Hyundai today.

Heungkuk Pink Spider Lee Jae-Yeong condition has quickly improved recently and have started training with the ball again at the start of this week. So her return to the court is also imminent.

    Current Team Standings:

  • Altos' win on their last meet seems like a "fluke".. Hillstate won this time and dominated the match...

    Current Team Standings:

  • News Update:

    • I am getting more indication that Lee Jae-Yeong will return for tonight important match between Heungkuk and KGC. It is unsure if Jae-Yeong will be in the starting line-up as she is still lacking in match sharpness. The gap between the two teams is just 5 points but if KGC win in 3 or 4 sets then, Heungkuk lead will be cut down to just 2 points going into the last round. Sources: 1, 2

      Update:
Heungkuk head coach Park Mi-Hee have confirmed Lee Jae-Yeong will start from the first set. She expects the serve receptions to strengthen with the return of Jae-Yeong. Park Mi-Hee was also revealed that Jae-Yeong condition is about 80-90%. Sources: 1, 2
    • Sorry, I missed this news the other day. Expressway Hi-pass confirmed on Tuesday (Feb. 18) that both setter Lee Won-Jeong and outside hitter Dayami Sanchez were not seriously injured. After examination, Won-Jeong just has bruises on her arm and that there was no fracture. She was able to return to court for yesterday match against GS Caltex. Sanchez was diagnosed with a sprain on her left wrist and there was no fracture either. Sanchez still needs to rest and she will be able to return to training once the pain is gone. Source: 1

I think it is a rumor but rumors from fans were quite trustworthy. I know it's hard to find a good replacement player during the season, and that's why teams should be very careful when choosing players in the draft. I would tolerate it was the first time, but it is countless that jongmin made mistakes.

Now I just hope no more players got injured from the match. Also I want just an appropriate level of foreign players. No change or injury please😔😔

And today's match between KGC and Heunguk would be an epic!!

Lee jaeyeomg came back for heunguk and Oh ji yeong came back for KGC.

I hope KGC will win because it will lead to a much interesting 6th round!
