Great someone who reads volleytalk..garbage complaining website
Nope!....actually, as stated in my previous posts in this thread, I acquired this info from 2 sources...which are preeminent in the US: VolleyMag/PrepVB.coms.

So you're making an assumption that this person is getting their info from a site you don't like? No need to start anything.

TRUST ME, I don't want anything to do with VT (came here after deleting my account there; ironically, to get away from trolls (guess they are everywhere))! So before such the weird interruption (guess that happens on IVC, also), I named the top-5 recruits -- and Stanford's incoming class -- for ericleo. Now, I will list the three top recruiting teams: aside from #1 SU, #2 NE, and #6 TX. (who bring in said top-five recruits).
#3 Oregon: they bring in a 6-member group which includes 3 VBMagcom "Fab-50" members. These include: Taylor Williams, 6'3" OH; Morgan Lewis, 6'2" OPP; plus Alex Laita, 6'1" OH. The rest include a 5'6" Texan/'Top libero of the 2019 class' (per PrepVB) Georgia Murphy and #80 Senior Ace Elise Ferreira, 5'8" Setter.
Recruit class #4 is a bit of a surprise (to me): Ohio State. The Buckeyes have emerged with a five-member group that includes three VBMag "fab 50" members: Gabi Gonzales, 6'4" OH, Marietta, Georgia; Kylie Murr, 5'6" L, Yorktowne Indiana; and Machaela Podraza, 6'0" S, Big Walnut (!), Ohio. The team missed out on 2018 NCAAs in part due to decimating injuries. Gonzales was a 2018 VBMag Girls All-America First Team member. Be interesting to see if OSU rises in the B1G
"k -- one more. #5 is, surprisingly, TCU (Texas Christian). All of their 7-member incomings are from that state; two of which, Julia Adams, 6'3" OH; Audrey Nalls, 6'1" OH; are in VolleyBallMag's "Fab-50" designation. McKenzie Nichols, 5'9" setter, is a '19 Under Armour girls HS All American. So that's it, for 2019, from me!
Okay: training starts in just over a week. Usually, AVCA comes out with a (cockamamie) preseason poll; which means squat, really. I'll post weekly RPI updates.

I would beg to differ with the preseason poll. If you start at the top, you are likely to stay in the Top 25 by the end of the season. Those that start near the bottom, may not be able to stay in the Top 25.

I do believe that my meaning was misread and/or misunderstood. Lookit: I've followed the NCAA WVB game for ~25 years. What I was referencing is that WAY too many fans (meaning homer fanatics) put WAY too much stock into who is #1 in August; feeling that Will extrapolate into a NC (Nat'l Champ) in December! Otoh, will the top 1-15 end up in the Top-25? Most probably. But, with the homecourt hosting of regionals for the first 4 in the rankings? THAT is not a "given".
A note to those who feel that complaining about an OP's supposed sources - "...volleytalk...garbage complaining website" - is a tad bit disingenuous, cynical, + counterintuitive -- particularly when the OP mentioned said sources earlier in the thread; then had to repeat it to said poster 'garbage complaining'. Look: it is about four weeks before the start of the NCAA season; 'bout 4.5 months until the Final Four. How's about sticking to VOLLEYBALL,instead of random trolling?
Thank You!
Okay: the first (preseason) AVCA poll will supposedly come out in five days (08/12). It does give a 'barometer' of coaches' tendencies/ thought patterns re: this upcoming season; but their choices -- from years of watching their picks - tend to be influenced a ton by the prior season's records. Still, with RPI, an indicator

Cool - thanks Thomas - ya beat me by 10-15 minutes (I am in Hawaii...it is just after 8:40A here: you have an early afternoon/ late morning advantage on me). I feel these are too high: PSU, FL, BYU, NEB, KY; too low: WIS, MINN. As I stated earlier, this preseason stuff (using a polite word) is often based upon prior year.
**Edit** - full poll came out; 11-25 are: 11) Oregon, 12) Pitt, 13) Wash, 14) usc, 15) Mich, 16) Marq, 17) Purdue, 18) Creighton, 19) Tenn, 20) Baylor, 21) USD, 22) Wash St, 23) Cal poly, 24) Ariz, 25) Louisville. Wow, some picks Solely Based on one year back. Too high: Cal poly, Louisville, Arizona. Too low: Michigan, Baylor
'hokay - seems obvious there are about five users here -- which is more than I initially thought there might be -- who seem to be NCAA followers. Welcome! I'll do periodic AVCA and RPI updates throughout the season (some use "Pablo" - another ranking metric - elsewhere; and yet, since it's not used by the Selection Committee, I will stick with RPI). A guess, as to the regular season-ending AVCA poll, from yours truly (Iow: just before the Nat'l. Tourney) -- in some cases I'll lump teams into a tie (ie: 1A,1B, 1C)
1A) Stanford
1B) The B1G league winner (Wisconsin, Minnesota or Illinois)
3) B1G second place
4) Texas
5) Neb
6) B1G 3rd place (Reason they'd end up being behind NE is the "legacy factor").
7A) Pitt.
7B) Oregon
7C) Florida
10) Kentucky
11) PSU
12) Wash.
13) BYU
14) Marq.
15) Mich.
The rest is just apples/ oranges: all the rest won't get near the Regional Semis. Anyway, just wanted to get some conversation(s) going at this incredibly early stage
This will be my last post in this thread 'til the next AVCA poll (September 2nd) - unless a direct question is posed to me - until then, I want to make a comment about rabid, homer fanatics of Nebraska (aka Go Big Red). Earth to 'Husker fans: you didn't invent the sport; you are 3rd in All-time NC's. Get over yourselves!
Does the first match start next weekend or the weekend after? Wondering if there's any match worth the spotlight

[ Well, it was kind of a direct Q, sorta ] -- ericleo -- MINN at TX on September 4.
ericleo -- one more beginning-of-season top match: Stanford @ Florida; also September 4th; 8P EDT.
And then Minnesota on 7th September.
Stanford really really has a harsh schedule.
