I'm not sure if Bulgaria is just playing well or the Brazilians are great actors on how to fake it.

Brazil is not strong like before, they will have big problems in future, without young prospect , all this first team right now is old, they are nothing special, I'm not surprise because they are losing this match

How is the venue of these matches determined? Seems pretty unfair for one team to have a home court advantage in such an important one-legged match. Should at least be on a neutral venue.

The best teams in each pool are the hosts. A few NTs declined because of the costs to hold the event, including Brazil.

There was bidding proces arranged by our lovely FIVB. It means better funds spent = nominated host !

There's also some crucial serving from Russell, anderson and Smith that saved the match for them.

Anderson is still too systemic as an opposite. Nimir was outplaying him in the third set. Almost unstoppable and his serve was on point.

I said it before. Anderson takes way too time to adjust as an opposite which could be a problem when the reception is not going well but he did become more reliable during the fourth set.

What a great series for Russell. He had to be atleast 80% these whole three days because neither Sander and Jaeschke were fit enough to play and I guess the US coach still doesn't completely trust Patch to move Anderson to pos 4. Muagututia was okay but Christenson struggled with his choices because he can't rely on him as consistently as he do with the american trio and the block of Netherlands was a little harder to penetrate than as expected. They're the giant killers of World championship last year so I expected USA to have a hard time but the third set should've been closed easily then Nimir happened.

Russell was very good. Muagututia was 👎🏻. Will be happy when Taylor sander and Thomas Jaeschke are dependable and injury free for the Olympics next year so they don’t have to depend on him. Max Holt was kind of quiet today- I expect more of him.

Nimir was a force. Too bad his team isn’t better.

Congrats to Brazil! It was a nailbiting match! Thanks to them, we will see 3 southamerican teams in Tokyo. I guess it would be the first time

I feel sorry for Bulgaria, they were just so close to for coming back to the Olympics after 8 years. I dont see them getting the berth in January.

What? Yes, there was a bidding process but only because the original hosts declined.
