Surprising the actual AVC is not involved in this.

  • Between the two, who's better Indonesia or Vietnam?

I would say Vietnam but don't know them well enough to predict with confidence. I imagine a lot will depend on whether Aprilia Santini Manganang plays for Indonesia (she didn't play in the recent Asian Champs, don't know why) and whether Trần Thị Thanh Thúy is recovered from injury and plays for Vietnam.

Vietnam has a good OP and MB in addition to 4T, and they play scrappy defense. That's why I would pick them

  • Matches are on at 1:30am and 4:15am for me which means I won't be seeing them :( not to mention the WC scheduling conflict.

I can't 😁 Someone always does it. During AVC Championships she got all awards on wikipedia 😁 Plus, she was the best scorer with some crazy numbers.

  • Prediction:

    1st - Thailand
    2nd - Vietnam
    3rd - Indonesia

    Experience - Philippines lol

PHI NT Management and Staff is very delulu and incompetent right now. Skipping AVC tournaments so that the team won't be scouted for a tournament that does not even have bearing for FIVB standings. Also missing the services of Jaja Santiago and Dindin Manabat.

A loss helps identify what you need to work on and hopefully learn from your mistakes. Skipping a tournament to hide your players does nothing. It must be really disappointing for the fans especially since they have a large following.

Now that you mention it I have seen her name pop up in some extracurricular places in recent months. She must have a hardcore fan club

  • Thanks, I did bite the bullet and made it so my computer can connect to faceturd, only to find pictures of the rosters that I can't copy and paste from, but they are useful for the extra info they provide. I did eventually use DuckDuckGo to search Thai web sites and found these copy/paste beauties: Source

Can someone explain Viet names to me? Looking at the official roster pictures it has, for example, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy listed as:

    Last Name: Tran

    First Name: Thi Thanh Thuy

    Shirt Name: T.T.T. Thuy

Please forgive my ignorance, but why is "Thuy" the name that gets spelled out?

  • Can someone confirm this?

    from wiki.....

Four national teams featured in the 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix.[2] Indonesia decided not to participate in the Philippine-leg of the tournament with a selection team from the Philippine Super Liga participating instead.[3]

  • Here in PHI, you need to play like a universal player..

OH: Mau, Laure(OPP/S is her original position), Molina(also OPP and played MB during her college days), Paat(OPP/MB is her original position)

    OPP: Maizo-Pontillas, Gonzaga
