The 2020 groups composition has been released.
China will host 3 weekends, Brazil and Poland will have 2 each. Slovenia will finally have the privilege to enter the competition.

looking into the schedule, I feel sad for Team Germany. They have home game in week one, next travel to China, then back to Europe, then back to Asia again and finally go to Brazil.

Does anyone know how much money each volleyball federation has to contribute to FIVB to participate in the VNL each year? Is there a difference between the core teams and the challenger teams in terms of the "admission fee"?

FIVB decided to limit the number of players in rosters for VNL. Original idea was that each team would call only 14 players but after protests of almost all NT federations the number was increased to 18 players. On February the final decision will be made.

14 is way too little. I feel like they should have increased it to 20. 2 of each position + 6 reserves.

What a joke. On one hand, FIVB has just claimed that they would prioritize over athletes' health. On the other hand, they made such a decision to force each federation to send their A squad to this tournament 5 or 6 weeks in a row.

I don't think this will force federations to send their A teams. Probably all the Olympic teams will make two teams, one for VNL and one for OG. I wonder if this 16 players rule also apply for the final round or is it only the group stage

Actually FIVB aim was to make VNL more prestigious competition as the best players would play there but effect can be completely opposite.

So far still no news about ticket where to buy or when can I buy it. It's only 5 months to go. Italians do things very slow.
Before they change the venue, in Chicage they put the ticket for sales ages ago.

For the VNL finals in Chicago last year, the ticket sale was not available until about one month ago. Just give it some time.

In Brazil tickets are normally sold one or two weeks in advance
I will buy the air tickets and then think about the games when it gets closer -
FIVB probably will withdraw from the idea of reducing amount of players and 25 will be kept.
