Maja apparently has "a minor health issue" that kept her out of the game. Terzić also didn't give any statement after the match, which is unusual. I thought the atmosphere in the team looked a bit weird. I wonder if everything is alright.

EuroVolley 2021-Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria & Croatia
-
-
Today Serbia and Poland are in the comfortable position, that winning just two sets suffices to guarantee their group victory. Good prospects for Russia and Bulgaria, not so good for Germany and Belgium.
-
I hope We will see interesting match between Italy and Croatia. At least tie match, even though Croatia can be more than happy to win even one set.
In Croatia girls are all over the news, from TV/radio/portals. And not just to mention them, but they are first in the news, they are on top spot on portals et . Like they are fighting for the gold, non volleyball fans don’t realize that non of this 4 NTs that We beat are not high level teams. They act like girls are miracle’s and they are gone fight for the gold

Really? I don't understand why the stands are empty then. Even in Romania there were more fans.

Because Zadar has the most covid cases in Croatia and they didn’t want to make situation even worst especially when Croatia is right now hot spot for tourist. Money.

I expect some "surprise" tonight.
Bulgaria vs Poland - pretty much open match, maybe i will give to Poland slide favourite title but i predict really tie result.
Croatia vs Italy - Italy is nominaly clear favourite for sure, but TBH i can see Croatia as winner, I would even bet on them (no jinx) and i will cheer for them, although that victory could mean that Italy will be Serbia's opponent in 1/4.
Serbia vs Russia - idk, Russian reception line is really vulnerable, if Maja will play, it will probably be one more victory for Serbia, but i repeat that if Lazovic won't start i will sincesiourly cheer for Russia.
-
Maja has a cold, that is the reason why she wasn't in 14 last night.
It is also mentioned that she trained today and that she will be part of the team against Russia.
More than 12,000 spectators are expected, according to organizers. (Covid-19 rules
)
*fun fact
If Serbia beat Russia, that would be first victory against them at European Championships. -

Probably Croazia is going to win 3/2 over Italy, this will be the second huge flop for italy in a row!!!

Louisa Lippmann in libero shirt today
According to the German commentator she's just getting some rest because after the summer off she's not used to playing so many matches in a short period and it's important for her to be in best shape in the elimination matches.

Drewniok 10/10 vs Spain in 1st set
She should retire right now, it won't get any better than that

if Poland ends up as the top team in their pool, would they be facing Tur or Ned ?
-
-
Well Dutch team doing what they should've done; winning 3-0 against Sweden. Although it wasn't that convincingly...
Now they will face either Bulgaria or Germany. I think both teams won't be an easy opponent for Dutch NT team and definitely will not be an easy win! Lately the Netherland has a lot of difficulties against Germany and have lost recent matches against them. Their fast game style is not in favor of Dutch team, especially with the inexperience of the middle blockers. It will be difficult to put up a well formed block against the attackers when Germany is able to receive decently. I think Bulgarian game style will be a bit easier to read for block and defense, but it won't be easy since they play in front of their home crowd and they are strengthened by the return of E. Dimitrova and Vuchkova.

First teams in pool stage can’t face up each others before semi finals if they ofc beats other teams before semi finals.
-
My prediction for the 1/8 finals:
Turkey vs Czech Republic
Germany vs Ukraine
Serbia vs Belarus
Croatia vs Russia
Poland vs Sweden
Netherlands vs Bulgaria
Italy vs France
Belgium vs Hungary
If we were talking about the OGs, I would say that it can be possible for Russia to beat Serbia, or Croatia to beat Italy etc, but I think this tournament is the complete opposite of the OGs, and by that I mean totally predictable.... the only match I could describe as an upset (barely, considering the state of both teams) is the BELxRUS one...

Too few players up the EC level currently, to be honest.
