I have said the simple history of Shen Fu-lin in Chinese NT 2019.
He is four years older than Raul Lozano.
Shen Qiong and Ren Qi are truly in the coaching staff.

Shen Fu-lin's age (or health?) is a question.
In theory, he is permanent but everyone knows why he has to return the coach position.
In fact, if Shen Qiong got better result in 2018 Asian Games, Chinese Volleyball Association could have believed young coaches.
The fact is the same as the female volleyball coaches.
In Chinese female volleyball, After Lang Ping announced her retirement, which local coaches do you believe? An Jia-jie? Bao Zhuang? Li Yan-long? Even Wang Zhi-teng and Yang Hao?
In Chinese male volleyball, Do you believe Shen Qiong, Li Mu, Lu Wei-zhong and so on? At least I don't believe them.
I thought CVA could invite Nikola Grbic. However, who knows whether he is a "young Raul Lozano"?
And even I don't talk about the problem of internal conflict such as Xie Guo-chen and Zhan Guo-jun from 2012 to 2016 and Raul Lozano and Ji Dao-shuai from 2018 to 2019.

Probably she stay on the sidelines and still be involved, and An Jiajie might be the one on the front lines.
I don't think An jiajie is as bad as people make him out to be. Some people say that Wang Baoquan could be the next coach. I don't believe it.
CVA really should invest in the next generation of coaches, like An Jiajie and Shen Qiong. IMO, a big difference between the men's team and women's team is the coaching level. Is the male NT really so bad? I don't think so, at least not considering the physicality of the athletes! It is an attitude problem, without a coach which everyone respects and submits to then the training slacks off and the team members cannot act together as one. It's a shame CVA didn't get rid of Lozano earlier
I'm gonna go back to Wang Baoquan again. I agree when he was coaching women's NT it was a shitshow, but he tried to get Tianjin's system working for the NT level. Many players disobeyed him such as Wang Yimei, Ma Yunwen, and Yang Jie. But they weren't called up by Lang Ping either! IIRC after the 2013 Grand Prix they were no longer called for the team. Besides that, Tianjin no longer has the crazy inhuman training that it did in the 00s to the early 10s. But he is just as old as Jenny so it's not likely he would come out and coach even if CVA asks him to.
Anyways, it's an open question who will coach both NT's after 2020. If the men's team makes it to Tokyo Shen Fulin will definitely stay until 2020 OG (I think).

Chinese local players didn't learn the defence skill from foreigners - If necessary, "we" need to ask some players such as Cristian Savani, Kevin Tillie and so on although truly I don't know whether they can say it without some diplomatic parlance.
Shen Fu-lin is still "old" and Chinese men's NT still needs foreign coaches (no one believes Chinese coaches in male volleyball) - During the timeout, Shen's words ... are the same as Karch Kiraly. He focuses on the training instead of stacs and so on.
Of course, it is that Marouf said in 2018 Asian Games, "Chinese players are lack of experience of high level competition."

I'm opposed to Shen Qiong, Li Mu, Jiang Jie, Lu Wei-zhong and so on being the head coach of Chinese men's NT.
The reason is very simple. As a foreign volleyball fan, who knows them?
EDIT: Their coach career is also not satisfied. Shen Qiong "destroyed" wing spikers. Li Mu was "afraid" of Chinese Taipei. Jiang Jie was too long as an assistant coach. Could CVA believe Lu Wei-zhong? Are you kidding me? If Jiangsu's MBs were stronger, Yu Yao-chen would have been stronger, too.

This Chinese team needs a psychologist to work with. When you watch lower-tiered teams playing at a critical match, it's understandable they would feel pressured, but no other teams would show the level of fear close to the Chinese team who were totally not themselves. They simply didn't put a fight. This psychological barrier is growing with them, as they continuously lose in important matches. They really need professional help in resetting them, not letting themselves overwhelmed with history, and aiming to show what they're capable of.
Culture, past history with the team, and a weak technical level of the team all contributes to the team's mentality. If the players are in an environment where the result of a team wouldn't make a difference between the heaven and hell, they would carry less pre-built pressure to a critical game. For instance, if the players have high education, they'd have another way out if the sporting result is not as satisfactory. In a highly competitive society of China with the world's highest population, players easily get suffocated with the mindset that success is tantamount to a gold medal.

Chinese men's teams in any sport are mental midgets, always playing down their level to their opponents, and always fearing teams that have historical dominance over them.
