Thai NT 2020

  • They need to have a good receiving coach. That is their biggest weakness. Ajcharaporn - Chatchuon - Pimpichaya is a strong triangle that can lead the young generation of NT to Paris 2024 transitioning from the Golden Girls. They have ti have as much playing time as possible together but with their receiving ability as for now, that will be a nightmare. That’s why they need to step up their receiving.

Pornpun & Thatdao will complete this young team. And where is Hattaya? She shall match well with Thatdao.

  • Hattaya was recovering from knee injury, but she is back now. She is currently with Diamond food club. So, in theory, she should be back with the NT next year.

I think due to their fast playing style, they try to get the ball to the setter as fast as possible and so, that allows a lot of mistakes and bad receiving to occurred. Even still, sometimes they just can't receive properly or just watch it hit the ground. lol...but yes, they desperately need to work on reception.

I wish next year we will see the new generation of Fab 6 playing. They need to start letting Ajcharaporn - Chatchuon - Pimpichaya play together as much as possible. Their receiving should be the main focus.

Glad to see Hattaya coming back. Hattaya - Thatdao duo will be great.

  • those 3 can only play together if one of them isn't injured of sort. haha but I think starting next year, none of the golden generation of vet players will be back. None of them has really made public formal retirement announcement, but none of them were included in the training camp this year, it was all younger players. So in theory, they pretty much have retired?

I feel the same way about the coach too, he has done all he could with the team already and got them only so far, but wasn't enough...but....he was still called back by the federation again. So IDK........

if you're talking about the libero, Piyanut? she also wasn't part of the training camp for NT this year, but I don't think she is completely done with the NT,, she may just be taking a break for the moment.

Changing whole starting 7 at once will be painful. That's why I hope Piyanut will keep playing for couple of years.

omg yes. I dont think I have ever seen the 3 girsl played together. There will always be some sort of injuries. 😂😂😂 but seriously those 3 are lethal combination. Thai needs to utilize them as much as possible.

i think they need at least 1 or 2 vets on the team to glue them all together. Nootsara & Pleumjit are good fit for this.

yes piyanut! Hope to see her play again!

the last time those 3 younger girls played together at the world level was WGP 2017. That year, they beat a younger and mainly reserved Italy, Turkey and Brazil. They all look healthy recently, so let's hope they grace the stage together again next year.

keeping my fingers crossed for the new golden triangle to be healthy all through 2021 and play as much as they can!

  • Seems like Thailand is very supportive of their women's volleyball from a fan perspective. I have no idea of the politics of who coaches and where money comes from, but with a good/better coach and a better trainer/training system ($$) to help prevent injury, this new set of girls could show amazing results, imo. Just look excited everyone is about the group before we've seen them make a run :rose:
