    For me Egonu looked like she was just trying to have fun, not pushing at all but enjoying being at Olympics. She didn't need to do more in this one anyway

    Congrats, Italy! Once Egonu reduced her errors, there's just no more hope for Russia. Her performance today is enough to get away with a win but she needs to be more consistent against China and USA. I have a feeling she'll grow more as the tournament progresses. Russia... what to say? It's a terrible start for them. I feel bad for Malova. She's the only one doing well in the team.

    The problem with Malinov, is that we don't expect much from her anymore. When she does the basic stuff, it looks like she played well. She did more than setting to Egonu today, and that was great, but Italy could do better than her

    I’m more than happy that serve is the main reason for number of errors and not messy reception with Sylla in it. Serve is something that can improve very fast unlike other.

    Basic sets to the middles were good today yes for example (to the team on the other end of the court)

    If you had watch Pietrini and her reception in Scandicci last season you would know that her reception become way better. Like I said it before.


    Reception was the key like defence.

    Italy was to strong for Russia, especially for Arina. So I will not judge them to soon.

    I think it that case Sorokaite is gone take her spot. I don’t think Sylla is gone get many chance at Olympics, especially after small injury. She didn’t trained fulll in the last phase and even before last part of preparation She was not ready.

    Yes, if they continue to be solid on the passing dept, then this wouldn't be a problem. Just need to be consistent with setting and attacking tjey will have a chance.
