Damn, impressively awful game.
It's good to see Italy with good distribution from middles, but fortunately Mazzanti will stay till Paris, so three more years of watching Malinov as a starter.

Bosetti has been setting many balls like that. In this last rally, she also set two balls in an almost perfect way.
Love all around players like her (Larson for example). Pure vball skills.
In the other hand, I still think Lucia > Caterina in just defense. But Caterina is slowly slowly reaching that level.

In defence yes but in attack you can’t even compare this two. I just love Cate, She is so smart player.

Italy with 12 block points in only 2 sets
Poor Argentina, Mayer is really trying her best in order to involve all her spikers and fool Italian MBs, but her sets lack of accuracy. She should try to set more to Lazcano, but the recepction doesnt help.
Egonu is still off, sure. Way too many errors. But what surprises me is that when it matters the most (20+ points), she just turns into a machine: her effiency is above 80% in the last points of each set.

Italy is perhaps the worst team of the competition so far in terms of number of direct errors, even against Argentina, beginning of a 3rd set, and they've already committed 17.

I think Orro always plays better than Malinov. Why she has so less playing time on court?

Well...
Orro is clearly a better player, she doesn't play due to less experience and fixation on playing faster than Italy can and should. IMHO she was kinda unlucky that Italy didn't play in VNL, basically she didn't have any chance to win her spot on a court since 2019. And then the result is that Malinov is changed in a middle of a 1st set against Argentina, give me a break.

I honestly don't think Orro would have gotten any more chance even after playing the VNL, even Cambi always had a lot more playing time than her when she was the backup. I just think Mazzanti isn't too fond of her for whatever reason and he sees something in Malinov (no idea what that is)
