Congrats France! What a tournament from them! They pulled a China 2016 and Brazil 2012 performance in order to get their first ever gold. I cant deny Im happy for them, specially for some really kind guys in that team. But I cant be totally happy cuz of despite I consider him a super talented player, it is hard for root for Ngapeth after all the stories we know from him. Maybe this gold medal helps him to change for a good!

It is interesting how a team that didnt arrive to knock out stage (USA), was the only team which was able to swept the new Olympic champion. Would it happen also in women competition? Russia was the only team that swept USA.
A bit gutted cuz of Mikhaylov couldnt take his second gold, he is a such a living legend, he was so important for Russia in the knock out stage matches. But to he honest, Sammelvuo has a huge responsability here. I strongly believe that he should have brought a libero as 4th OH, because Bogdan didnt have so much participation here. If you know your libero is the weakest between the top teams, well, you should have a plan B. Even in the preliminary round we saw Golubev was the weakest link.
In addition, Volkov was really solid through all the tournament, but today, only 4 poits
I agree with almost all of you for the Dream Team. But maybe the best OPP could also go to Patry. Jean was more consistent and regular than Maxim during all the tournament. While Mikhaylov as off during many matches, he stepped up in the key moments.
