Galassi is the shortest Italian player, contributing to nothing. Scandalous choice I think
Balaso >Colacci , Blengini
this link works! thanks!

It is going to be a 3-0. Italian body language is horrible, they look super pissed off, everyone except Michieletto.
Of course, he is the only one with competition rhythm after being one of the highlights of the VNL.
The only way Italy could turn this around: Canada self destruction. But they have lowered a lot their mistakes, specially Vernon

I agree. I think we have our first upset on the men's side on the very first match lol
-
They need to feed Michieletto as much as possible. He is the only one working so far.
-
Mexican commentator: Italy B team defeated 3-2 this Canadian team some weeks ago. Italy should have send more A-team players to the VNL in order to get them into rhythm. He said he had previosuly played against Zaytsev and that Ivan is being a shadow of himself.
Those are good insights, meanwhile what I have here on my side is the English guy commentator who commentated the QF JPN CHN match. Just saying what he sees, no insights whatsoever, very lame and plain boring 🥲

Don't ever underestimate a team of Alessandro Michieletto.
(jk, I still don't believe them)

Michieletto is amazing
-
Michieletto is the spark of hope right now for Italy.
-
Mexican commentator: Michieletto is the spiker with the highest effiency on court now (no counting MBs). He is saying that the Italian youngster has a huge talent, but the current silver medalist team cant rely on a 18yo guy who is playing his first match in an Olympics. The veterans must step up.
Sooner or later Canada block might catch him, so Giannelli should use more his MBs.
Let's see if Alessandro can prove him wrong.

Yeah, that was probably the most bizarre decision of a whole male tournament to select him over Balaso.
Obviously Michieletto almost single-handedly leads his team throughout this game, but the main difference during this 3rd set was that they were able to serve well (uhm, Michieletto and maybe Osmany), and to get a series of break points, the question is whether they can maintain that flow.

I personally consider that it was more scandalous Balaso not being called than Lanza.
Colaci is good, yes, but I think he has passed his prime. Balaso had a solid performance with Lube, despite the early defeat in the CL. But he was the best libero in Superlega and one of the best in the last VNL.
He was the best Italian player in that tournament (+Michieletto, of course).
