If that’s the case then I think it is for the better. So many players have abused that style of play. 😂

I don't think it applies for setting, at least for now, Polish commentators with some insight knowledge spoke a lot about it because some of Polish players love to spike with these carried-pushed tips - that someone has come to conclusion in FIVB that these plays with reaaaallly long contact of hand with a ball during tips should be excluded, so that's the order introduced before a tournament now. In female competition Bosetti had few times whistled an error of carried ball on the same basis, Michieletto as well.

I just hope they'll be consistent with this type of refereeing.

I am already happy with what the Japan team showed. They are definitely still not in the same level as the other top teams here, but I'm happy that they fought really hard with what they have. The team lacks good middles and I hope they get to have some to complement their strong wing spikers. I think only Shimizu is retiring so they will still be left with a good core for the next quad.

Do you think they will be able to qualify for Paris? Iran will surely want to have revenge on them. Will Marouf still be playing by then?

Qualification process to OG will be changed drastically, I don't know if it was confirmed already officially, but according to rumors there won't be continental qualification tournaments and the best team from every continent will advance to Olympics, so being the best Asian team in FIVB ranking will be decisive here.

For now Japan is a spot ahead of Iran, but its a long way to go.
