Graça said he's talking with the Japanese organizers and that World Cup may be used as one of the 3 qualification tournament for the Olympics but with different formula than the current one. He also added that FIVB is risking to lose 24 millions of dollars with this move.
It seems that World Cup was very fruitful for FIVB $$$$
It's interesting for me that he also talked about big popularity of volleyball in Asia. FIVB earned 17 million of dollars with tv rights in Thailand. "Thais love volleyball. It's the same for Philippines, Macau, Hong Kong". FIVB's new target seems to be India
Make it a qualification so it will be relevant again.
You guys are right (partially)

check the pdf in the schedule. World cup is gonna be from 16 - 24 SEP. It will be some sort of qualification event for Olympics but the time suggests it will be downsized. So it won't be the same and the records won't change.
What it seems is that World Grand Champions Cup will no longer exist, I am right?

yes you are. now that you mention it, something funny (only a joke):
China won olympics -> delayed (maybe even cancelled *knocks on wood*)
China won grand champions cup -> cancelled
China won world cup -> cancelled
