Czech Republic?
I would hardly call 2019 Czech Republic a remarkable opponent. Haak has been a world-class player for 3 years now (improving each year). In that time, has Sweden ever defeated a Top 20 country in the world? That is something that must have happened (and more than once) if she were as big a needle-mover as some consider her to be.
Ok it looks like Tandara -> Osasco and Lorenne -> SESC are done deals. But it is still a rumor since none of the teams have confirmed yet (and I don't think they will confirm any time soon).
This website tends to post official news instead of rumors
Tandara moving to Osasco is a dream come true for me since Roberta might stay therefore I will be able to witness the magical connection between these two ladies again.
Well Sweden was aiming for Paris 2024 last year too Quite ambitious considering how terrible the investments are towards volleyball here unfortunately...Let's hope they make it to next ECH at least, sucks not to watch Haak in a NT.

Me too! I was about to write about this but posted it first! I am loving their connection. I hope camilla brait will make wonders as well...
So the only question will be mayany, is she playing in osasco??? Or in sesc???
I love osasco this season!!! Then minas... barueri and rio
So it seems Goncharova is staying in Russia until she retires lol
“Goncharova and Fetisova re-signed contracts with the club for the next season. Victoria Rusakova, Daria Stolyarova, Ekaterina Raevskaya and two foreign women - Loren Karlini and Helena Havelkova, leave the team. All other players remain in the team, ”
Natalya Pereira will join the team (2012 Olympic champion in the Brazilian national team - Ed.). Since we have two foreign women left the team, we are working in this direction. We solve problems with the players. I think that in the near future there will be clarity, ”the source said.

I think Nati is the perfect transfer for Moscow, I hope they finally build a team around Goncha that she deserves. especially with the years of loyalty and dedication.
Czech Republic?
I don't think this Czech team without Havlickova was a remarkable team.
It is a pity that Lazic sisters are not interested in NT. They are not world class players but they could definitely help Haak. Where does Haak's sister play?
I don't understand why people think one single star player can elevate an inexperienced team that much to beat even really good, well-organized "top-20" teams. I also don't believe that there aren't any capable coaches in Sweden. Haak had instant success when she moved from Sweden to France. So i guess her prior coaches at home also deserve some credit in her early development.

Anna Haak played in France last year.
Rebecka Lazić played in the national team last summer.

I did not say trainers are bad, but most clubs are not even signing full-time contracts with players here. There are no proper sponsors, largest Swedish cities like Gothenburg and Malmö don't have teams in the professional league and they refuse to play there because costs are enormous while once again there are no sponsors. It is funny considering giant companies like Volvo being localised in Gothenburg. So most of the things done in Swedish volleyball today are done by people's own will, with no monetary expectations. I mean federation does not even organise an indoor trainers course for many years. I don't how many countless talented girls quit volleyball because they simply saw no future...The only option for talented teenagers is to attend a volleyball high school and I honestly don't remember anyone else than Lazic sisters who went to that high school and became famous pros.
Haak is an exception in every way. She was lucky that she was a part of a team which has been in the pro league for so many years and she could play with their A team already in young ages instead of going to a volleyball high school.

Happened only once...1989 ECH, silver medal. Also a 4th place in 1987. That is all unfortunately. If that makes them a top team in the world, not sure.
i wasn't following VB at the time, but being 2nd in europe at that time would mean being among the top in the world, no?

No. Volleyball wasn’t as popular at that time in comparison today. Less countries were investing to their NT in the past unlike in recent years.

Wow, looks like a really good transfer for them. She's fun to watch!
German NT Libera Linda Bock renewed her contract with USC Münster for 2 Years
For me, it seems like Haak just does not care very much about Swedish NT. I get the sense that she considers it as a secondary priority and that her effort/motivation into it is low. I mean, the organization and management of the particular NT in question are substandard or third-rate, hardly professionally managed, and so vastly inferior in relation to what she experiences abroad while playing for a top team in a prestigious pro league that I doubt it´s easy for her to redirect/adjust and take it very seriously. The last summer she didn´t even play at all for Sweden and I doubt she will play much for them in the future as well due to the reason mentioned above.
