Japan Women’s NT 2020

  • Coach Aihara n Nakada

I wish Google Translations were more understandable :rolll: but I see words like "gear change" and "accelerator" in there, and what seems to say that Coach Lovebunny is doing the "detailed coaching" while "Nakata stands by quietly".

I hope we get him on the sidelines for airplane laps

It must be very different coaching highschool kids versus players like Yuki and Risa. That's the hurdle I see for Lovebunny. Motivating and guiding "experienced" pros is a different ballgame.

They should have started this at the World Cup :teach: Japan can't improve until the rest of the team is good enough to have Yuki and Risa as bench players.

It also sounds like who the Setter will be is going to be a death match. Nobody is in favor now. I'm still on for Sato/Miyashita. Would love to see what Matsui could do but setter is the place where you really want experience.

  • Kinda feel bad for Iwasaka too, Aya Watanabe was last in the beginning (Iwasaka 2nd last), but now she's climbing.

I wonder what it does to the psyche of players who see themselves not getting the love. The biggest surprise for me is Kobata at #23, below Mizusugi! I know this is like All Star voting and not a group of seasoned sports analysts weighing in, but I thought she was more popular. I'm kinda of leaning towards a 2 libero OG squad. Mako is the best receiver and Kotoe the best defender.

I'm going to chalk up Tamaki's poor showing to fans not liking players who went to college.

kinda agree on this..but if Nakada gonna stick with Sato, she will 🤣 for Miyashita, why is she on receiving team with Inoue&Kobata (from JVA IG)

Kobata was first until Inoue birthday 😂 it rise a lot..

it’s probably more they don’t know know who she is because of playing in college. If she did not play deep into the Harmony or Intercollegiate championships people may not know you.

  • Araki is a making a run for the top, up from 7 to 3. She'll never catch Haruka, though. Mayu Oikawa drops from 4 to 8. I didn't know fans were this fond of middle blockers. Yamada is at 14. YOLO at 17. Come on kids!

The Japan Volleyball Association announced on March 28 that the Japanese men's and women's national teams will cancel their planned overseas trip in March due to the spread of the new coronavirus. The men were scheduled to travel to Europe from March 7 to 21, while the women's tour to the United States from March 14 to 22. • mens' poll is sad :rolll: bottom person got only 34 votes

Where can I see the mens' poll? But my guess is the top three are Nishida, Ishikawa, and Yanagita :drink:

Also can anyone give me more information about Ran Takashita. Saw a few matches of his team and I'm impressed. Heard that he is the only one from high school got a call to the NT. Hope he can play a few matches against weaker teams during VNL.

Mens' poll standing is Yanagida, Ishikawa, Sekita, Nishida 😁

his name is Ran Takahashi right? not sure, can't find many updates on Men's NT :rolll: but yeah he is amazing

  • Fan Poll NT Final results. Look at Kotoe go :super:

    10 Arisa Inoue 4.43% (3,487 votes)

    12 Risa Shinnabe 4.38% (3,445 votes)

Still think Miya Sato has a chance but I bet this Fan Poll is pretty close to who gets the OG nod.

Nana Iwasaka can play the "experience" card and will probably go. The MB position is tough. Akutagawa deserves a serious look, and Oikawa and Yamada are making great strides but Oikawa's lack of "experience" and Yamada's recent injuries might prohibit them from making it.

I'm still down with two liberos because Kotoe and Mako are a great tag team and both deserve to go.

As for the swingers, Arisa Inoue doesn't play defense so she would be a silly choice. I'd love to see YOLO but I don't think she's the best choice given the context. It'll probably be Nabeya, but I'm giving Kotona Hayashi the wild card.

I'm also worried about Ishikawa and Kurogo playing together. They were uncoordinated on court with Toray. Kurogo is not an OP. I'm not down with the Japanese MO of OP as a willy nilly part of the rotation.

  • Has Yuki Ishii ever been injured?

  • a good day to see short-haired Arisa Sato. what a lovely :cheesy:

At first I couldn't see that as her, but yeah:

If only she would have stayed with Hitachi ... the last championship match would have been Hitachi v Okayama. A dream come true :rose:
