COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

  • imagine living shrouded in the highest form of ignorance bliss

And how is Sweden still going normally ? Ignorance ?

Only country which numbers are not wilding and they didn't have any lockdowns. Because they are not idiots.

i'm so sorry you were dropped on your head so many times as a baby, but thankfully the world is still a fit place for those intellectually challenged

  • Only country which numbers are not wilding and they didn't have any lockdowns. Because they are not idiots.

    3 main factors:

    1. They are pretty rich country which can afford 'a loss' 6,000 people. Each death, hospital treatment is a cost for a country. (Please read what is 'value of life' in economics).

    2. They have pretty good medical care, so their system was able to handle that without any lockdowns.

    3. Country's density is 25 people/km2, so the virus doesn't spread so fast.

  • There are people in this world (read the forum) who just can't figure out certain things (read everything that involves thinking for 2 minutes), so guys warm advice not to try to explain and that we all go nicely to Sweden :drink:.

This is true. Plus, they have a government that's not corrupt and actually prioritizes the welfare the people. So unfortunately, not every country can be like Sweden.

  • Unfortunately, there's covid fatigue going everywhere around the world so another lockdown could bring forth a very powerful revolution from those people who are tired of it.

In my opinion, just be careful and do all your best to protect yourself and your family. Don't fight/argue with people who are against mask or lockdown especially through physical altercation because there's a likelihood of transmission of the virus when people yell or even talk with each other.

Stockholm is a pretty dense city but Sweden's single person household is the most in the world. It probably helped them fight the virus without further restrictions because there's no one to infect at home.

Look at their trains they are full of people without mask, bars, restorans and etc. They are living normally

Every person who is living in Sweden that I know got Covid... They made the best strategy.

  • Sweden is ranked 14th in total deaths per populations stats, following UK and Italy. How can they be considered succesful?

And they were at top, at end many others European country will have bigger numbers.

Same as % of death rate. It was on 6% and now it is at 2,8%, and it is even lower with the real number of positive people.

I highly recommend you to not forget factors as cultural, social, demographics, etc. Even much more when a pandemic is running. We couldnt judge the results of the pandemic in each country with only one index.

Like it was already highlighted, Sweden is a country which is well known for its good medical healthcare, low density and last but not least, it super low in the global corruption index. And, of course, we could not forget their behaviour. Nordic countries to not have the same costumes than Mediterranean countries, starting with the way of saying Hi. As well as the sense of "colectivism" is way more developed.

And please, once again, the world isnt just Europe, USA, Canada, NZ AU, etc. We shouldnt forget that there are many countries where more than 30% of their people still dont have proper running water system. So, how could they follow the first (and most important) step of washing your hands? Countries where instead of sending the medical supplies to the people who really need them, they sell ithem 5 times the price in black markets, etc.

Some Southamerican countries decided to run a similar strategy as the Swedish and Austrian one. Really good plans. But they miserably collapsed because they did forget their citizens dont have the same behaviour, needs, etc than an European.

We shouldnt forget that while some Europeans already went to the beaches and danced in discos, there are countries which are still in lockdown since MARCH. A little bit more of empathy would be appreciated.

  • Rich country doing better than other countries because they are a rich country.. Well., why other countries don't do the same?... :wall:

Sometimes is really difficult to be part of this forum, not gonna lie

  • But you can't stop COVID without lock down and can economy survive new lock downs ? Nooo

Countries are gone recovery from it next two years and you want the new one. This is just delaying what is gone happend sooner or later. Everyone are gone got COVID. Tomorrow I'm doing testing because our patient is positive. I can watch for myself as much as I can but I need to work you can't avoid it...

  • Well, Covid is back all over the place on TV. It never left, actually, but now it's the one and only subject. ;(

They just said Campania is the first italian region closing the schools.

I hope everything will be fine for you, family and friends. Stay safe and strong!

  • The world is past the point of containing coronavirus so a widescale lockdown is extremely unnecessary anymore.

The problem is the richest countries aren't doing well and every country, small and wealthy are trading with them.

Another lockdown from those rich countries will affect the whole planet economically.

What we really can do is help everyone in this world to survive and that's through becoming as one earth. I really don't know if this is possible in this time of pandemic but considering how globalized we are as people, an act of selfishness is going to cause more damage in the long run.

  • Let's make one thing clear, if we want to talk about countries that actually did well during the pandemic, the only countries we can and should name with praise based on statistics are the east-Asian ones like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan etc. Have you guys seen how steady South Korea has been?

And NO! They did not ignore covid-19, nor did they ignore safety measures. Quite the contrary, when Europe was still arguing masks (lack amount of masks available at the time so media underwhelming it, yaay coruption ) they had masks for everyone and sanitization everywhere, they were locked very fast as well. It's insane how they improved themselves so much. What is so succesfull about Sweden? They literally have bad numbers lol, yes they can still live with it because they are super wealthy, majority of the world cannot live up to that standard though. And yet when we have to compare South Korea and Sweden as developed nations to give an example, South Korea not only is better but completely butchers Sweden and all of Europe for that matter.

You can live however you want but please don't be pushing the narrative here that masks aren't needed, it makes you look really really uneducated and unattractive (this is a kind way to put it) tbh, ignorance is the ugliest trait a human can have in my opinion. By now most of us know just bcs 'only' 3% is supposed to die doesn't mean it's ok for the other 97%, there is some very severe side-effects people have to deal with and some have them can be permanent, as in the rest of your life permanent. Have you looked on some interviews of patients that have had covid? A super large percentage have them have decreased lung capacity for months and struggle breathing, others have permanent lung damage to name just one thing.

Go around without masks and let natural selection do its thing tbh, the sad thing though is that people like these spread it to others as well.

  • Sometimes I think that tyranny and autocracy is the only way out, some people should definitely be forbidden to express their opinion publicly.
