Poland - Tauron Liga 2020/21

  • I've watched back the friendly match against LKS Lodz and Legionovia.

Bongaerts did a fine job at the setter position, although the connection with the players wasn't always there yet, but that's understandable at the beginning of the season. Now she is using Zaroslinska, who is the best scorer for the team, by far the most. I would like it if she could involve Alagierska more in attack. Reception doesn't always allow Bongaerts to use the middles, because it wasn't great. Wojcik and Lazovic are okay receivers, but when they have to cover a lot of the field, their serve reception goes down. The libero Saad dissapointed me, because she was the weak spot in serve receive. Is Strasz a better receiver? If that's the case, I would play with her as starting libero. In contrast to Alagierska, Bongaerts used Ninkovic a lot on the slide attack. Ninkovic didn't contribute much though in attack, so she should work on that!

I think Saad is better, mostly in reception.

She was the 3rd best receiver in 2019/20 season.

  • This year our league will be really strong, it’s good to see so many good players not only in Chemik but also in the other teams, which rosters were often very weak. I can’t wait to start watching :cheesy:

I also think that it’s almost sure that Piła will leave the league after this season, their roster is just horrible, maybe two good players and that's all. I will keep my fingers crossed for Radom, especially due to Skorupa comeback

    Radomka looks really strony

IMO Piła > Joker, Kucharska is a good setter, they have 2 ok liberos, Skrzypkowska is also quite ok.

I feel like we need to put our predictions here before the league starts😁

I guess Piła and Joker will be in bottom 2, but Joker have better team in my opinion. Plus, they have some money in pocket in case they will need to hire new player.

I can say Wenerska is good setter. She was probably the best in second divison. Sikorska was the best scorer, Jurczyk the best blocker, Nowak the best libero.

    My prediction :D :

1-2 -> Chemik/ Developres. These 2 teams are obviously the strongest on paper. They both have very dominant opposites ( I personally think that for now Van Ryk is in a better shape than Jovana but Brakocevic has much more experience ). I hope they perorm good in CL because they both have competitive but achievable groups.

3-4 -> ŁKS/Radom. I really like the transfers they made. Skorupa is amazing for LSK and we all know how much she loves using her middles so maybe Łukasik will finally play a convincing, succesfull season because she has potential but in Legionowo she wasnt playing her best :) .Bruna wasnt playing great in the friendly games but Im sure she will improve. Lately Twardowska has been struggling with reception and that might be Radomka's problem but I like Molenda who can always replace her. ŁKS is also really strong, very close to Rzeszów and Chemik, I just think Zaroslinska hasnt done her job which is scoring a lot of points last season in the most important games like the Polish Cup final or the match against Busto. Of course she is good but I noticed that she is really powerfull in games against weak opponents and in really important matches she disappoints.

5-7 -> Legionowo/ Budowlani/ Pałac. They are all on similar level. Jones Perry is a really good transfer for Budowlani. They have a young but strong team but IMO they won't make it to TOP4 which many people may disagree on. Legionovo is capable of defeating the best teams however reception might be their problem. Pałac is also able to surprise us, hiring Bidias was a good move. Their team looks better than the 2019/20 one.

8-11 -> Bielsko/ Kalisz/ Piła/ Wrocław. It's very diffucult for me to guess how these 4 are going to perform. Piła may seem weak but that was also the case last season and they performed really good. Kucharska is playing really fast and she is the brain of this team. I guess Bielsko looks the best of the 4 but they sometimes play really good and sometimes horrible. Kossanyiova will definately be their strongest player. Kalisz players are young but might be difficult to play against. Polak is a fine setter who likes to play fast, Ptak was great last season. Wroclaw is really unconvincing for me. I am not a fan of Jasek/Rapacz opposites duo.

12 -> Joker. They have like 4 or 5 players who have played in LSK before. Maybe they will proove me wrong but I dont think their team looks good compared to the rest.

  • Ok, my predictions.

    1. Chemik - I wouldn't say they are clear favorite for the championships, but they have solid starting-six. Pleśnierowicz - Brakocević, Salas - Mędrzyk, Kąkolewska - Wasilewska and Maj (L)

    2. Rzeszów - I was surprised by the level they showed during the friendlies. Kiera van Ryk is really powerful player. I like the way the decided to built this team. A lot of players signed 2-3 years deal with them. That should be good for Developres. My prediction for starting six is: Kaczmar - van Ryk, Lazić - Blagojević, Efimienko - Stencel and Krzos (L)

    3. ŁKS - Looks like ŁKS is stronger than last season, but they don't have any decent defensive specialist. All of their OHs are better in spiking than reception. I would love to see Britt using the middles, but I'm not sure how often it will be possible with shaky reception. Starting six prediction: Bongaerts - Zaroślińska, Lazović - Wójcik, Alagierska - Ninković and Strasz (L)

    4. Radomka - I would put a big question mark here, because I'm not sure how they team will look like during the season. In the friendlies, they didn't show anything special. The starting six predition is: Skorupa - Bruna, Twardowska - Johnson, Andressa - Łukasik and Witkowska (L)

    5. Budowlani - I really like some of their transfers: Jones-Perry, Fedusio. Their weakest link is the possition of middle blockers. It's pity they didn't sign any good foreigner for this spot. Predition for starting six: Nowicka - Jones Perry, Fedusio - Górecka, Lisiak - Moskwa and Stenzel (L)

    6. Legionovia - The biggest loss for them are Strantzali and FIdon. I don't think Różański and Rivero will fully replace them. I saw that Grabka and Oliveira Souza are injured, so the start won't be easy for them. The starting six prediction: Grabka - Souza, Rivero - Różański, Stafford - Tokarska and Lemańczyk (L)

    7. Pałac - They lost three players that made the difference last year: Fedusio, Balmas and Stencel. Hope Regiane will be able to help the offensive, but I don't think they will be able to end up this season in top 4. The starting six prediction: Mazurek - Dascalu, Bidias - Żurowska, Ziółkowska - Różyńska and Jagła (L)

    8. Bielsko - There were a lot of changes in this team. I know they have smaller budget, but Ola Jagieło build pretty competitive team with small amount of money. I really don't like the setter position, tbh. Their starting six should be like: Gajewska - Orvosova, Kossanyiova - Kazała, Świrad - Witkowska and Szczygłowska (L)

    9. Kalisz - I must say I really love their middles. Ptak and Centka were pretty good during the friendlies. Polak should be better setter than Szady. Bociek and Szczurowska are solid opposites. Their weakest link is OH position. It's sad they couldn't keep Ewelina Brzezińska in the team. Their starting six should look like: Polak - Szczurowska, Damaske - Bałuk, Centka - Ptak and Łysiak (L)

    10. Wrocław - I don't really like their team, tbh. They've decided to hire some overrated names. Starting six: Szady - Rapacz, Bączyńska - Murek, Witkowska - Gancarz and Pancewicz (L)

    11. Joker - They don't have big names, but build pretty solid team in my opinion. They were playing quite good during the friendlies and the coach gave a chance to each of the girls. It's really hard for me to predict the starting six, because back-up players like Kowalska or Kukulska had good moments during the friendlies. The were able to beat Piła and Pałac, so I don't think they will end up this season with 0 points. Starting six: Wenerska - Sikorska, Marcyniuk - Urban, Jurczyk - Brzoska and Nowak (L)

    12. Piła - They have some experienced players, but will it be enough? They looked really bad during the last friendlies. Their starting six will be: Kucharska - Łyszkiewicz, Wellna - Skrzypkowska, Kubacka - Ponikowska and Pawłowska (L)

  • Huge sensation at the beginning :white::white::white:

    Budowlani Łódź - Joker Świecie 1:3 (-19, 23, -22, -22)

    MVP: Adrianna Kukulska

    Górecka 22, Fedusio 18, Jones-Perry 10 /// Sikorska 20, Kukulska 18, Jurczyk 10

I was so impressed by Joker’s setter Katarzyna Wenerska, she uses middles very often and plays very fast :rose:

  • My god Jones-Perry was so invisible today :what:. I must agree that Wenerska was great but also Kukulska surprised me a lot, she played with block so many times, very smart player.

  • Anyone knows if there is a way to watch LKS Lodz - Bielsko Biala outside of Poland? :)

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks in advance!

The game between ŁKS and Bielsko Biała isn't broadcasted by Polsat Sport :(

  • Luckely I've found a stream to watch Chemik Police - Legionovia Legionowo!

Legionovia Legionowo won the first set:cheesy: I like them so far:) Never saw Oliveira Souza play before, but she is a pretty decent opposite with her left arm! Also Grabka and Rozanski are prefect players for Legionovia Legionowo IMO. I would switch Stafford with Tokarska, because Stafford is a great attacker and can be much more useful on the slide attack than Tokarska...

Chemik isn't playing good, especially their serve reception is really bad... But they are playing without their main outside hitters Medrzyk and Salas. Kowalewska wants to play too fast, so she is a but imprecise in her sets.
