Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2020/21

By the way, the season preview of volleyball magazine declared Stuttgart as top favourite for this season - but they ignored #covid19, which might prove as huge fault...
-
New season starts this weekend with following matches:
Saturday
19:00 Potsdam - Dresden
19:00 Suhl - Schwerin
19:30 Straubing - Erfurt
Sunday
14:30 Münster - Wiesbaden
17:15 Stuttgart - Vilsbiburg (TV match on Sport1)
Like last season, all matches except the TV matches will be streamed on http://www.sporttotal.tv
Looking at the rosters, top 4 should again be Schwerin, Stuttgart, Dresden and Potsdam (in no particular order). Vilsbiburg, Münster and Aachen come behind them, and I expect Wiesbaden and Suhl to be fighting for the last spot in the playoffs, maybe a small chance for Straubing too. Erfurt once again seems the weakest team on paper, but who knows what can happen this season
Myrthe Schoot is going to miss the first match due to knee problems, Vilsbiburg will play with Junior NT libero Simona Dammer. I think Potsdam-Dresden might have been a better TV match...
-
Schwerin with Stoltenborg and Oude Luttikhuis instead of Imoudu and Alsmeier clearly loses 1st set against Suhl And Potsdam after a nervous start and being 5-6 pts down takes first set against Dresden.
Aleksandra Jegdic is playing sooo good, Terzic must consider her for Serbia NT!

Yes, it is high end libero duel too of Dürr vs. Jegdic.

Actually it's mostly Morgan Hentz for Dresden. In the beginning it was Dürr for reception and Hentz for defense, now it's Hentz full time. And yeah, she's doing very well too!

Durr sucked in the Supercup game. I'm happy for Hentz.

Judging from these 2 games I watched, Dresdner is lacking a terminal pin hitter

Exactly. Geerties is never going to be a powerful hitter, Stigrot is not stable enough and neither Storck nor Crittenden will do as OPP if Dresden wants to win titles. I wonder if they're going to sign another OH during the season if somebody good happens to be on the market...

Nele Barber is a great transfer for Münster!
-
The automatic cameras seem to work even worse than last season In all matches I watched so far they moved too late all the time or sometimes even zoomed at a completely wrong spot
-
This camerawork is unbearable. Why focus on the server? Doesn't make sense.
-
How are these teams ranked last season?
-
Yes it's annoying. As I said, it's an automatic camera system, so it's not like we could blame a drunk camera man...
-
How are these teams ranked last season?
Wiesbaden was 9th, Münster I think was 6th when the season was stopped.

any live stats?

any live stats?
No but the stats sheet should be posted soon after the end of the match.
Wiesbaden for sure looks stronger than last season. All of their transfers make a good impression, but IMO the main upgrade is Ashley Evans. Last season Wiesbaden had the worst pair of setters of the league IMO, now Evans is doing a pretty good job.
