Japan - V.League V1 (Division 1, Women) 2020-2021

  • Why don't Japanese players post pictures of themselves clad in bikinis on their Instagrams?

  • Man I gave up on DAZN their streaming service is whack. What about Gaora? is it better over there?

I just wanna see this presscon so bad lol. They never release it anywhere else. I was able to make an account already but I don't know if I'll be able to access anything.

V.TV will not block oversea viewers. However, it doesn't provide English version for oversea viewers. And that's same organization calling commercialize volleyball. It's just like a joke. I can't believe they are only providing 720p videos in Japan considering Japan is a leading high tech country.

It's a tough call. My guess is you might be able to watch it live but not on-demand. The only clue is:

"On-demand distribution is limited to paid members"

Too bad they don't come right out and say "register a free account to watch it live"

  • I predicted Manami Kojima would win the fashion contest at the Fan Thing:

    Oops!

Although the purse is accessorized well

Hope a channel comes through for those NoSmiler matches

  • Is DAZN still a streamer? I remember they covered last year and did a shitty job.

I hope that the JT and Denso matches get aired.

Everything not VTV is on DAZN (and/or Gaora). Some local stations also air locally. So it's up to FB or QQ, or live 365 to help us out

  • PFU vs Toray yikes. Does PFU have any promising players?

Why doesn't V. League upload the matches on their official youtube? That should be priority content that they should provide. CVA has at least 10 min videos on bilibili. seriously wth are those 1 minute clips for is v league running on tiktok timer

I want to say Haruka Yamashita their setter but I can't fully say that she's actually good, I just like her oops.

For V.League anything that exceeds a minute is privilege abuse ;(

  • Two PFU players I'll be watching for this year are Saki Goya OP and Natsumi Watabiki MB.

Goya is from the same class of players who made up last year's U-20 squad. Team mate of Shion Hirayama at Higashi, she won best OH in 2017 and best OP in 2018 in losing endeavors against YOLO et al and Kinrankai. She may or may not make the transition to big pants at 167cm cough

Watabiki was a hidden treasure with Kurobe last year. Finished 5th in blocking, tied with Akutagawa who she reminds me of, except not quite as fast. She should at least take the sting out of losing their tall foreign MB Doris Jennifer.

PFU Captain this year, Ayaka Horiguchi OH, is pretty spunky. She's not great but is definitely noticeable. One of those players who is all over the court.

I'm not familiar with either of the new imports

  • Glad to see her playing abroad.

It was a long time coming. JT wanted her after they couldn't get Hattaya's service due to injury. But Thatdao had also just recovered from her 2 year hiatus after a bad knee related injury and didn't want another injury too soon again. So she declined and that's when they got Thatdao's home club's other promising mb instead.

a very wise decision to take some time off to really heal. she is my fav MBs out of the new wave of players. Does Ajcharaporn play in Japan also this season?

  • Here's the link for the SAGA Saitama match (Set 1) that 'premiers' 6-7 hours from now. I assume it will live there after the premier but I don't know for sure

Everybody's favorite player front and center
