Russia - SUPERLEAGUE PARIMATCH 2020/2021

  • Looks like this is gonna go Krasnodar's way. They're playing with more passion where as Moscow is sloppy. Busato is watching from the stands.

  • Lazarenko and Khaletskaya did a good game today

  • How was Natalia's performances? I just watch the end of 5° Set and she was good.. 2 sets and 2 kills... The setter seemed insecure

I only got to watch a bit of 4th set and the 5th. She either got blocked or made errors in attack.

  • I'm so glad Fetisova is back to her golden days. She contributed with 10 block pts:heart:

I am glad too she is slowly getting back to her form especially with her offense. Her and Koroleva will be a very good MB duo :box: Who do you think should be the 3rd MB? Lazarenko? Efimova?

Based on Sergio's interview on Instagram, I assume that Efimova will be that 3rd MB:wavy:. Tbh, I prefer Zaytseva and Lazarenko over Efimova. I don't know if these stats are correct but she was the 3rd best MB in the WC last year:rolll::whistle:

  • I hope that Lazarenko goes to Tokyo 2021 :flower:

  • Sergio Buzato said in an interview after the game that the doors of the NT are open to all players. He also emphasized that he wanted to see more fire in the players' eyes. He even said that he liked the play of Khaletskaya and Krasnodar's setter and libero.

It is very good that Sergio is in good relationship with all players because some key players like Kosheleva and Malova gave up from the NT because of Pankov.

as for now, aside from Goncharova, who do you think will be invited to the NT? I can see Scherban extending her stint with the NT coz she can receive decently and attack too.

    In 12 i will invite

    s: Startseva, Romanova

    opp: Goncharova, Lazareva

oh: Parubets, Voronkova, Kosheleva, Fedorovtseva (it would be insane for her to join at such a young age NT)

    mb: Koroleva, Fetisova, Zaytseva

    l: Malova

But for sure thing can change in 7 months.

It's not really unheard of. Arina will be 17 years old next year and, AFAIK, this was the same age Boskovic debuted in Serbian NT during WCH 2014. Egonu joined NT around same age these are such the case for players who have so much potential.

For Olympics and due to the 12-player limit, Russia really needs an OH who can play somehwat as a libero so bringing all three of: Voronkova/Kosheleva/Fedorovtseva doesn't really make sense to me. IMO Parubets is the only one who has locked her spot as OH in Tokyo.

I agree, I think every team in OG will try to get a defense specialist OH in the case of an injury of libero. OG is a long tournament, it is too risky not to have a back-up for libero. I think Turkey would do the same

True, but it is not uncommon for a 17-year-old to play in the Olympics for a national team like Russia as first senior NT tournament ever, no matter how talented she is, Boskovic started at the World Championship, at a time when Jovana Brakocevic was returning from injury, Egonu in the Olympic qualifiers , but it is important to note that Italy used 2016 to change generations and almost sacrificed those Olympic Games (although the change was necessary and as it turned out to be very successful), so i still think that Fedorovtseva at Olympic will kind of exception.

Agree about OH position, Parubets lock and personnaly i would love to see Fedorovtseva, for the rest i think that rest of the season will be decisevly.

First of all, I'd like to point out that most of the players mentioned above are very close to me (they are approachable), maybe that's why I'm more excited than them now. The information is too much and I can't share all of it or let's say I don't like to post too much on this forum. The most important thing for me (maybe including all their fans) now is that they perform well, not under their level. Volleyball is a team sport, not an individual, this is what I want to see on the court (team spirit). Well, let's hope we will see more fire in their eyes.

  • I like this 12 players! Only the outside hitters indeed doesn't seem that strong in service reception, but that's not unusual for a Russian team:D I would like to see one "better" receiver as one of the four outside hitters. I can only think of Scherban, but IMO her level declined recently... Especially in serve receive she isn't as reliable as she used to be. Another option could be Kurilo. She isn't the best receiver, but she gets the job done!

Zaytseva can be a real asset with her slide attack to the Russian team if she is able to maintain her current form! Otherwise I would like to Evdokimova:)

  • I would love Fedorovtsova, but I think indeed Kurillo will take that spot this time, unless big surprises happen in VNL.

  • Based on Sergio's interview on Instagram, I assume that Efimova will be that 3rd MB:wavy:. Tbh, I prefer Zaytseva and Lazarenko over Efimova. I don't know if these stats are correct but she was the 3rd best MB in the WC last year:rolll::whistle:

Any idea why Sergio has so much trust in Efimova? I just can’t recall any good match she had neither on club nor international level. Even her stat looks good in the last WC (we know how many weak teams the WC had), she didn’t contribute at all when facing strong teams.
