If you have a Korean VPN you can easily watch it on the official streams, depending on which match it is - its usually on either SBS Sports or KBSN Sports - and always on Naver Sports.

KBS: http://www.kbsn.co.kr/onair/index navigate to "KBSN Sports"

    SBS: http://play.sbs.co.kr/onair/pc/index.html?id=S02

    Naver: https://sports.news.naver.com/volleyball/index.nhn

Next match will be Heungkuk vs GS Caltex, this friday 7 PM KST on KBSN.

    Edit:

    Forgot about afreeca

  • I wanna ask: Can foreigner change clubs without try out in the end of their contract? Or she can only resign to her current club, can't resign to other club?

Another question: Is there time limit for foreigner to play in V-league? So far that I know there is no foreigner who play more than 2 seasons..

  • Afreeca TV also has a live stream for the games. I always found it more stable than Naver with my VPN. You can also watch all the replays on the site.

In case all the Youtube channels go down, SBS puts all the V-League (male and female) games on their website. It is their version of the play-by-play. So if the game is live on KBS, SBS will still make a version with their commentary and put it on their website a few hours later. You can watch everything for free without a VPN. You do have to create an SBS account though. But even foreigners can signup without a problem. The quality is not HD like those less than legal channels, so it might be better to search through the dumpster first!

SBS also has a ton of gems like the last VNL 2019 with Korean commentary.

It is possible, but only if their current team decide not to retain them and they get selected by another team.

There isn't a limit on the number of seasons a player can play in the V-League. However, teams can only renew a foreign player contract for only one addition season before the player have to go through the draft pick process again. So this meaning the foreign player like Diouf and Lutz would have to go through the draft and they could potentially be selected by another team if they want to play another season in South Korea.

Alaina Bergsma is the only player to have played for three consecutive seasons in the V-League for KGC Ginseng (2016-2019) since the introduction of the tryouts. Alaina had to go through the draft selection process again after her second season but luckily for KGC that got the first pick so that how they retain her for a third season.

News out today, is that due to the ongoing covid-19 situation around the world, the tryout or foreign players draft for 2021/2022 season will not be face-to-face. So basically it will be via video link and teams will need to decide on players from videos again. Source: 1

  • didn't Nicole Fawcett play 2012 to 2015 too? how did that work?

  • Yes, Nicole did play in the V-League from 2012-2015 but Alaina was after the introduction of the tryouts/draft in 2015. Sorry, this was before I got into volleyball but I think teams could sign any foreigner they want at the time.

same, I think I watched summer 2014, forgot which game, maybe avc? at that time i didn't know much about the rules too lol and then was amazed by the twins then followed since then.

  • Thanks a lot for the info...

hmmm..I wonder if Diouf n Lutz still interested to play in this league again... maybe if they don't get better offer by teams from Europe league, they will try again.....

It was written in Spike Magazine. Some people posted a screenshot on DC Gallery. It was discussed on those forums. I tried to re-find a couple of threads here:

It must be hard leaving your team after 9 years and after winning a championship, but business is business, and Lee Da-yeong (without the drama) is simply the superior setter so you gotta make that trade 100% of the time. Cho Song-hwa's arrival at IBK also kicked out Lee Na-yeon, and nobody shed a tear for her.

for reals though about the lee nayeon thing. twins will always have a spot light on them for all reasons. I'm pretty sure there are issues with every team, but this seems to be a big issue because they are always center of attention.

this is really getting out of control, fans that support kyk and fans that support the twins, attacking one side is still hurting the other side too, it's a loose loose battle.

  • Really great analysis!

But regarding Lee Dayeong, I don't think she was intentional in neglecting KYK. Ever since Hengkuk changed their strategy after Lucia left, she seemed to only rarely set back court attacks to KYK. During yesterday's first set, she still sets mainly to the Left regardless of whether KYK or Jaeyeong was there ... and in fact there were quite a number of bad sets given to Jaeyeong too as far as I remember...

But I guess the incident may have affected the twins since it was clear they are far from their normal conditions yesterday... hopefully things do pick up!

  • Here's the whole story in English from the beginning about our little Heungkuk High School Drama featuring Lee Da-yeong and Kim Yeon-koung. Things are much clearer now. I recommend viewing it directly on Instagram since the font is so small...

  • Man. This is some kinda high school petty drama. Queen Yeonkoung doesn’t deserve this coming back playing in her home country after a very long time. That setter needs to stop living her life in social media and focus on being a professional volleyball player. I wonder how Lazarini feels about all of this.

  • all are blaming dayeong, how about kyk ? is no one wondering what she did to Dayeong for her to post that? dayeong is already in 7th year of her career she's always in good relationship with her teammates and this is the first time that this kind of thing happened
