Firs 2 days are scheduled and matches will be broadcast on SK2.

  • like i said without russia and italy

This tournament is a non sense

  • france win 3-2 to croatia

    Diouf best scorer

She's tall and good prospect,I hope she and rotar became french star and be in olympics

  • Belarus swept serbia 3-2

I like them, they have a good young program in these last year, they were bronze at u17 in 2018 and were in last u18 world championship

They develop hryskevich and kastsyuchic that are big talents

  • The semifinalists from group II are known, the Turkey as expected, but also the surprise, France.

Today Turkey beat Croatia 3-0, otoh France beat Bulgaria with the same result.

In group I situation is a bit complicated and the epilog will be known after rest of the matches.

I hope France will raise some good talents from this generation, they will have a spot in OG in 2024 as host. It would be a pity if they will lose every match 3-0

I don't think they gonna lost all their matches

They had a young and talented team now

Gicquel in imoco, fidon and souza in poland,in 2024 they will be at their peak

Last year they beat bulgary with vasileva (the same that almost defeated usa in oq)

And also the prospects amandha sylves, amelie rotar and guewe diouf

France is gonna be so strong after 2024

  • In group I the things stand like this. Bosnia and Slovakia will direclty fight in theirs match for place in semifnals for 5. - 8. place, because probably Belarus will beat Bosnia easy with 3- 0. Serbia to reach the semifinals must beat Poland in the 4th round, with a victory worth three points Serbia would be a sure participant in the semifinals regardless of the result of the match between Poland and Belarus, a 3-2 victory over Poland Serbia would bring the semifinals in case of victory of Belarus result over Poland or in case of victory of Poland over Belarus worth 3 points. There are certainly a few more theoretical epilogues, but they are less probable, the conclusion and reason for this post was actually the statement that Serbia probably will need a victory against Poland in the last round, and we will see what the result will be. It is also a already-known fact that in case the winner of the Belarus-Poland match wins by 3 points, the winner is a sure participant in the semifinals.

  • last decade serbia was so strong in under age categories

Nowadays they suffer a lot and develop few players

I agree with you. I think 96-97 was their last good generation (with Boskoviç, Milenkoviç and Aleksic) since then youth and Junior competions are dominated by Turkey-Italy-Russia

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what medals a team get at youth categories. What matters is how many players could join to senior team from it. As an example, 1994-95 was one of the best generations we ever had, based on youth/junior competion. They won ECh youth, WCh youth and ECh junior competions but from that team we only had Kubra Akman that played in senior team as starter and the rest faded away. On the other hand, our 2000 generation with Ebrar Karakurt was last one in the youth ECh (then in junior level they had better results though) To me 2000 generation is more successful since we could have a starter player from this generation in the senior NT.

You obviously forget generation after this, with Lazović, Kocić, Veselinović,... because they finished second on the Euro u19 and with easy 3-0 beat Turkey in semifinal and truly lose with 3-0 against Russia, but they beat them in the group (for result not significant, but for strenght of the team sure).

After that 98-99 generation, results on the internetional competition dropped a lot, but also from 2000/01 generation Serbia will have some potential national team member in first of all Mirosavljević, Perović, Djokic, and all of this players are among the best in their generation&position, but they don't have a chance to play and show herself in young ages in big leagues and for/against big clubs as players with the same age can in turkey, italy, russia. So IMO the conlusion will be that i can agree with both of you that Serbia in last two generation wasn't so succesfull as the previous were but at the end that isn't so important, and for sure level of play of Serbian national will drop a bit after Maja, Milena, Stefana, Silvija, Brankica retirement, but result at least on the European level will not drop, at least not drasticly, for sure Serbia will be in top 3 in Europe for next 2 olympic cycle, after that who knows,.........we will see.

  • Fun fact*

Tijana Vrcelj, serbian setter, is a nephew of Bojan Janic former men's national team member and current coach of Partizan Belgrade men's team.

I don't know if that is the reason why she is so selfconfident and IMO sometimes even iritating (sarcastic), otoh she didn't show too much in volleyball way, she is IMO the biggest weakness of this team, and to make matters worse, her back up is even worse than her.

  • I don't think Serbia will have a problem about players. Cause they can find players from Montenegro, Bosnia, Kosova so easy.

You probably mean because of Bošković, Mihajlović,.....Many times on this forum it was explained that all that players are actually Serbs from other former Yugoslavian republic, but i am not going to be lazy and i will try to explain once more, and yes i am sure that if in the future some girl, serbian nationality, from Republic of Srpska (official entitie of Bosniq and Herzegovina), Montenegro or Kosovo & Metohija with quality will deserve to play for Serbian national team she will play without doubts.

I agree with you, I think what Tunc meant is tho, Serbia wont have problems because its not actually as small as some might think, the population of Serbs around the world I mean. I mean its still small compared to some others, but also in a place where volleyball generally does very good, eastern europe.

I don't think personally that Serbia will just vanish (at all) after a good gen. People usually underestimate how many years goes into raising a gen in the first place anyway.
