Finally some formula changes that make sense, not having to play every week in different parts of the world is definitely a big improvement

Quarterfinals
Pool Play? Meh... is it 12 matches against the same 8 teams? That would be boring. Or am I reading it wrong.

Yeah.. I don't fully understand the new formula. Teams will be split into 2 group of 8 teams and every team will play 12 games. 12 not 14? That's weird.

So what exactly is "VolleyballWorld" as in (Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Council meeting last week, the new format for the VNL , as proposed by Volleyball World,)
i thought VolleyballWorld was just FIVB's new branding... is it not?

Teams will probably play against the same team twice and maybe even not play against a team from the same group, like the old formula of the Grand Prix. I don't like this idea, but the rest is fine by me.

so its a "partnership" between FIVB and some investment group...
with the intention of "growing the game" aka capitalizing on as much $$$ as possible

I'm not really sure if it's just a partnership. I guess that this CVC fund owns 'VolleyballWorld' brand.
Edit: As it was mentioned in different thread, this fund now invests 40 mn euro in italian league volleyball.

I kinda feel like Larson will be benched forever in the first match just like Paula in 2012.

per the press release FIVB is the majority owner. The contacts that have at the FIVB, have all had their positions change to Volleyball World.
the sport has always acted like separate fiefdoms, and now with this they are moving in the right direction. Hopefully a better hub and spoke. -
People, we have a 2022 thread... you should go there
