Japan Women's NT 2021

  • Kurogo needs some sort of reestablishment in Japanese volleyball in general. Idk if reverting to OH will do it, or a transfer of clubs but i dont think she'll grow while continuing to be a shadow to Ishikawa and Koga. She needs to be an ace in the clubs before NT, and she was far from being an ace in Toray. That escalation by Nakada was a total mismatch.

Spot on. She should go "abroad". If she just transferred from Toray everyone would know why and it would be high drama. But if she goes abroad she'd grow (or collapse) as a player and be a hero.

I think she's just tweening, like Koga. If she's got the substance to grow up she'll be back better than ever.

  • why can't Kurogo have a role like Ajcharaporn on the Thai team? Ajcharaporn is a main OH, but she plays OP when Pimpichaya was injured and Malika was needed to be a reciver. But now that Pimpichaya is healthy and Malika retired, she will be the main OP and Ajcharaporn will go back to OH.

Maybe that might work for Kurogo too?

Though Mayu would have to be the 2nd OH who helps reception, If Kurogo takes such role. But who is a better point getter of the 2? There might be a problem....lol

She cant be the Main OH. Koga is already the Main OH. No chance for kurogo to take Koga’s place.

  • I have to Agree. Now Kurogo have to deal with all the shit that Nakada started 😂

    Kurogo is just tweening :)

Manabe ruined Koga last OG. It's a tradition for a coach to ruin a player every OG. Look where Sarina is now. If the Kurogo has half the substance Koga does, she'll be rockin' Paris

  • True, forgot Koga in the equation. Guess I should have said Koga and Kurogo....since Mayu is already a 2nd OH for Koga. And Koga already has proven she can score, so guess Kurogo won't likely get OH1 spot either way. Poor girl......

Since she’s playing opposite now. Might aswell get better on that position. She still has time to improve shes still very young

OT: will our new-gen golden triangle finally be playing together at Asian Championship?

  • OT: will our new-gen golden triangle finally be playing together at Asian Championship?

OT too, but yes as long as all 3 are healthy at the same time. Which they are :). Covid positive stopped them from VNL appearance this year, but they should be good to go by then. But currently training has come to a halt, due to the dates being pushed back till October.

I think Mayu is OH1. Koga and Kurogo has more intersections in the rotation and Mayu has to face setters instead of opposites.

  • The people here saying Miyashita's toss is low... when did it get lower? Her toss looks incredibly angled at the best height. What's the difference between her and Sato's tosses that gave Sato the upper hand in 2019?

The whole too high/too low discussion is over my head, but maybe Haruka's toss got lower when she stopped jumping? I had to do a double/triple take to be sure it was Miyashita in that video. She isn't like that any more. What a beautiful connection with Miyu. It has that "I know what you like" quality

  • There's another setter in that video, the one with long hair...

Miyashita was noticeably pushed aside by late 2017 or early 2018? when Tominaga was main with Tashiro and Sato. I don't remember the exact timeline of changes anymore.

Saori for one wasn't much of a jumper so she didn't need a super high toss. Miyashita took advantage of Nagaoka's freak whack back in those days.
