  • Is there a chance Ivy League and Big West will hold the competition? How would their programs compete this year, only non conference games? :what:

    Nope. Both canceled all play.

Ivy League I believe, won't be on campus at all. They're all still remote except for the students that have to be on campus.

Big West cancelled for financial reasons. (They don't have big football programs) They couldn't find the $$$ to be in line with the various protocols needed.

What about their programs? Hawaii, UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly were all in the NCAA tournament.

Do they have a chance to play and qualify for the post-season? Hawaii made it to the Sweet 16 last year! :white:

Overall rankings? Non conference games? :white:

Nope. None of them will be playing as far as I know.

The Cali schools don't have the resources to be compliant with the different standards that are set by their local governments (I believe they differ from county to county)

Hawaii's distance would be a problem for any school that is wishing to play them ($$$) and I would guess that not wanting to bring the virus back to the island could play a small part.

I think a few players could opt to go pro. I don't think they're allowed to transfer with eligibility (for the spring season)

  • Added a link for Pac 12 Network international. That will come in handy for matches on the Pac 12 Network.

Most other matches will be hard to find (legally) for international viewing. Youtube the day or two after (for big matches) will usually happen.

I can add in streaming links for the Big East (if anyone watches) . Im not sure what other conferences would be international (and time zone) friendly.

A link to save would be the TV listing by Volleyball Mag here which'll get updated every day/week once the season starts.

  • AVCA coaches D1 preseason top 25:

IMO Stanford ranked too high and Minnesota too low. I like Kentucky got a high ranking, because they are a likeable team to watch! Hope they can make it happen:)

  • Stanford at 3 is an LOL from me....

Rankings will be a bit crazy this year. Conference only play for the most part will make teams hard to gauge.

I think Baylor is too high too. Washington as well.

Utah will be the best PAC team

  • Less than two weeks!

We've seen most of the schools return to practices now. I expect more schedules to come out in the next week.

Also expect to learn of the players that are opting out of the season (and may seek pro opportunities). I know of a couple names but will wait to see what their decisions are.
