Compared to who "in general"? Messi? Lewandowski? Ronaldo?
To any footballer playing in Italian NT/Serie A stars/Pellegrini/Rossi etc.

from January 2021 and the Daily Sabah, which is a pro-government newspaper.

Fenerbahce, Besiktas (only Women), Galatasaray have volleyball teams. However, some of that income probably comes other parts of the club structure. If these “big clubs” have overspent, volleyball will be affected in some way.
I mean Turkish Airlines is also tied to the government too. The Turkish league is essentially a house of cards right now. If the lira keeps going down, teams have pay in dollars or euros to keep players. Which leagues are more financially/politically secure? Japan, South Korea, China, Russia, Italy, Poland.
from CNBC just last week, https://www.cnbc.com/2021/11/2…ogan-sparks-selloff-.html
“Inflation in Turkey is now near 20%, meaning basic goods for Turks — a population of roughly 85 million — have soared in price and their local currency salaries are severely devalued...”
“According to ratings agency Fitch, in August 57% of Turkey’s central government debt was foreign currency linked or denominated, meaning paying that debt becomes more painful as the lira continues to drop in value.”
When the Turkish government, who is a big supporter of the sport through ownership stakes (intentional or unintentional) in companies/businesses that have volleyball teams, and are having economic problems, it becomes a problem for volleyball fans and players.

Schwerin parted ways with Kertu Laak, but I really can't imagine Thompson in German league OTOH, we also have Wong-Orantes, so why not?

Egonu declined offer from conegliano, there is a big chance she might sign either fener or vakif next yr. Also imoco offer haak. This might be another switching player. From hill-krob in 2017.

Pasini wrote that a few days ago.
But it's not reported anywhere that she declined, just that she will think about it after WCCh
IIRC he wrote that she declined the renewal offer as for now and there will be talks ongoing after WCCH, and there are big chances she'll move to Turkey, and if she goes to Vakifbank then Haak will go in exchange. It's not definitive decline (according to GLP), this is correct.
I saw some people on twitter yesterday saying that Egonu is a done deal but without any source so I didn’t want to share anything. Some of those users seem to have some sources, though it might be sheer luck, so we shall see.

It was done deal last season too.
